I read about Honokiol in some medical studies and wanted to try it. I purchased a couple of brands to compare, with this being the most expensive. They all have the same percentage of Honokiol listed on the label. This brand had the strongest results.

I was exposed to black mold for 5 years in an office, which, in susceptible individuals, will trigger Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome, CIRS. Even after getting out of the mold exposure and going through the 7 step Shoemaker protocol, some damage is not reversible. I have susceptibility to insomnia due to having a mess of GAD mutations, which makes someone very quick mentally, but also predisposes to insomnia, because their brain never shuts off. That would be me. CIRS attacks whatever weakness someone has, so I developed the insomnia from hell that is one of the possible effects of CIRS. This product was recommended by my health coach to help me sleep. It is much less expensive than another product that is available, which I have also used. This works as well or better. It also has anti-cancer effects.

Each capsule contains 90% (180 mg) honokiol+magnolol in a 1:1 ratio, thereby providing 45% i.e. 90 mg each of honokiol and magnolol. This seems like a good ratio of the two. Had there been much more honokiol, the product could've risked being sedating, at least during the first few days of its use. As it stands, the product is not sedating at all, right from day one. It can in fact be slightly stimulating in a GABAergic sense that is entirely opposed to the stimulation caused by something like caffeine. As such, you'd never want to use it for sleep; it'll harm sleep. So if sleep is what you want, you're better off with valerian and hops. The product helps take the edge off. I still haven't opened up to using it during the workday, but it's perfect for evenings. Tolerance does happen, so one can limit use to a couple of times a week.

Been using this product for quite awhile for anxiety and mood. It helps a great deal due to it's 90% honokiol content. Standard magnolia bark does not contain anywhere near this percentage and it makes all the difference. This brand is the most effective and affordable I've found at a high percentage of honokiol, and the bottle lasts a long time. Highly recommended! I take 1-2 per day and it takes the edge off without causing drowsiness or that "loopy" feeling that many anxiety products do. Absolutely no side effects. Great remedy and excellent product.

Not sure if it’s helping me to relax and sleep better or not. I have some good nights and I have bad nights still.

I purchased this for my husband because he’s had insomnia. While this hasn’t helped every night, it has helped him to relax and get a bit more restful sleep.

My vet recommended Honokiol (mangnolia bark extract) for my 16 year old Llasa/poo mix who suffers from congestive heart disease. I really believe it benefits him and has slowed the progression of the deterioration. It is also good for sleeping problems for us as well as our fur babies.
