220-240 Volt/ 50 Hz, Breville BRVBL097X Blend- Active Sports Bottle Blender, FOR OVERSEAS USE ONLY, WILL NOT WORK IN THE US

We bought this in summer of 2015, not knowing it was only for overseas use. It came with the plug designed for overseas, so we bought a converter so we could use it. Once we plugged it in, we realized that there is not enough wattage to blend ice, frozen fruit, or even fresh fruit that is the least bit hard, like apples. It produces about 300 watts. We have the Breville Stick blender, which works great, so we were very disappointed with this version. The stick comes with a wide mouth pitcher, a chopping attachment and plenty of power for blending/crushing ice/chopping veggies. I've even used it to grind meat. Don't waste your money on this wimpy device. Look at the higher powered versions instead.
