Convenient and very practical
Use this for taking images especially from old books where using a flatbed scanner would be really difficult for fear of breaking the spines of the books. It is very easy to use and produces quality images. The margin on one side is wider than the other so depending upon the inside margin of the page sometimes you need to reverse the motion to get the scanner into the fold of the book. Matters not, works well in either direction.

Problems scanning the bottom of a page but otherwise a great gadget
When I first received the scanner it kept disconnecting from the computer. It turned out the port was defective on the scanner, but that issue was resolved quickly. The scanner is quite easy to use.The only thing that bugs me a little is that even if you scan further than where the page ends it won't scan the bottom part of the page properly and will keep cutting off the bottom part.So you will need to trick the scanner into thinking that the page goes on by putting another pager that also has printing on it underneath so that you scan over this too.Afterwards you can open it in a picture program to crop it so only the page you meant to scan is showing.Besides that little hiccup, I would say it's a great gadget for this price.

Awesome. Does exactly what it says on the tin
I only use this for occasional scanning and have limited desk space so did not want the footprint of a larger flatbed device. Portability was useful but not essential. This device is incredibly easy to set up and use. Once the time is set to timestamp scans (very slightly fiddly, but no problem and not essential), it requires only one button press to work if using default settings. Only a few options are needed (scan resolution of H/M/L, scan format of JPEG or PDF) and then you just need to run the device over the object to scan. The flatter the surface and the smoother the movement of the device the better, but I got perfectly acceptable images the very first time I used it.On top of that it comes with a 16GB micro SD card included if you don't want to use a lead. The only thing required is 2 x AA batteries but these are ubiquitous around most households. No idea on battery life as I've only used if for a short time. Tried a couple of rechargeable batteries I had kicking around and these didn't work, which may be use to the slightly lower voltage used (1.2V vs 1.5V in alkalines), but maybe it was their age / charge state.I considered a WiFi version but am glad I didn't pay the extra as it's really easy to just read the images direct from the memory card into a computer.Overall, highly recommended. Will add some example scans at a later date.

the wifi feature on the scanner worked once and then didn't work again.
Good little tool but the wifi feature only worked once and then never worked again. I contacted amazon customer services who couldn't help. I then contacted the manufacturers who just sent me a video of how to set it up but I'd already done that. My phone and all other devices stopped being able to pick up the wifi signal from the scanner. I've ordered a replacement and hoping that the next one works better.

No good for books
Besides having issue of moire patterns a problem with majority of scanners including my desktop one I have a Epson, I just couldn't get a reasonable copy of several pages of text and pictures, I wish it would have worked as its very easy thing to use although the lcd screen on the scanner desperately needs a backlight as you can't tell what dpi, jpeg/pdf without looking with a decent light. I had to return my same day I got it, as the text and pictures turned out poor and not straight. I was better off with my flat bed scanner or using a mobile phone camera

Adequate if you are tech-savvy
Works fine to produce bog-standard jpg or pdf directly to the removable SD-RAM Card in the device so it's completely independent of any other device. Image files transfer without problem to Linux device via supplied USB cable so should, in theory, be tranferable to ANY compute device.Process for setting DATE is unclear. Seems It's only possible to set the YEAR despitie "instuctions" suggesting a full yyyymmdd-hhmmss date can be set.Great care must be taken to move the scanner uniformly over the scanned source or the image will be distorted. This is not a flatbet scanner so expectations should be set accordingly.

I works perfectly well especially for book pages
I attend and have to report on stamp club meetings. This device is ideal for scanning the individual album pages that are usually displayed, making it possible to illustrate those reports. The instructions are clear enough except you will need to work out how to open the battery compartment. There are some online videos I found. Just push down and forwards on the curved depressed part of the battery cover and it can be lifted off.

Amazing Customer Service
It's very practical, it's quick to scan a piece of work and upload it to the computer. You don't need to download any software. It works the way you expect it to and it's better then those scanning apps you get on your phone. Also it's lightweight and portable. As a design student this is so useful as I can move around without worrying about storing my sketches on the go.I wasn't satisfied with the first scanner I received, customer service was really helpful and they sent me another scanner it was brilliant. I also always thought returning a product on amazon would be annoying but I just dropped off the product at my local supermarket. If you want to scan text get the 900DPI if you want to scan sketches or pictures its worth getting the 1050DPI. The scanning quality is quite good.
