Strong and a work of art too!
This is my second trout belt and I like it just as much as the first! Wish I could get a Brook trout one also I have rainbow and brown trout belts. Keep up the fine workmanship Thomas .

Fits well, long enough to shorten. I am ...
Fits well, long enough to shorten. I am a bit worried about the plastic buckle (at least 1 reviewer said his broke). I suggest that when you are taking it off, use the end of the belt to pull up on the buckle to open it instead of pulling up on the buckle end itself. If mine breaks, I am going to replace it with a couple of "D" rings from the fabric store. If you think you might do that, make sure you leave enough "end" because you most likely will have to cut the buckle off, it is sewn on very tightly and you will need enough fabric to double over the rings. I hope I don't have that problem with the buckle, because it is very attractive in itself.

You get a little bit more than what you paid for
As long as you understand that this is not a heavy-duty survival-type belt, but really a light-duty fishing belt, it's exactly what most fishermen will be looking for. It's rugged enough for typical fishing duties; I wore it wet-wading in a couple rivers and it didn't stain my pants or start to fray. The buckle is plastic, but seems tough enough as long as you don't smash it with a rock or something. It has a very positive lockdown; I've had several belts of this type that would get wet and somehow pop open at the worst times. Also, some belt buckles will spontaneously let go of the tag end of the belt, and this one held on as if permanently attached.I was even able to hang a polymer framed sub-compact pistol and my knife from it without trouble. The belt didn't stretch at all with the added weight (about 18 oz.).But what I was pleasantly surprised by was the quality of the artwork on both belts (brown trout/rainbow), which was much better than what i expected. I got several compliments on them around the campfire.I would recommend these belts.

Nice, slim, stylish web belt
I really like how slim, non-bulky this is compared to other non-metal belts. I travel by air a lot so I like non-metal belts. I think most others I've seen are tactical belts intentionally made thick, bulky with buckles that bulge out. This belt is much more comfortable, and as an avid fly fisherman, I love the pattern.

Looks great, and holds really well
Perfect belt for fishing with lightweight pants. Plenty of length for up to about 40 inch waist. Buckle latches positively and holds well without slipping. The trout-skin design is awesome. Fun to wear. I'd buy it again.

Not good
The image is crisp and clear. Really like the fact even though a plastic buckle it locks with a crisp click and holds. Hope it holds up because I really like it thus far.UPDATE-- The plastic buckle broke already. I am 2 days past the return window.

These are the best belts in the world
I've had a number of these Thomas Bates belts over the years and just love them. They're easy to adjust for when you're a little bigger around the middle after a big meal-No holes for the buckle as they're infinitely adjustable. Also great for air travel since there's not metal in them. Plus, they're available in great patterns. Can't go wrong with them.
