ACME Boatswain's Call Whistle Pipe, No. 12

This Boatswain pipe is made by J Hudson & Co England. They have been making these pipes for the Royal Navy since 1870. It is a fantastic authentic pipe that sounds fantastic. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity with a detailed history of the use of the pipe and a instructions on how to sound the calls. I very highly recommend and would stay away from the cheap knock offs.

I spent some time with the grey funnel line where I had many opportunities to use a bosun's call. The ACME bosuns call impressed with it's high standard of finish and quality of tone. Very much the same as a Pusser's issue version, but without the broad arrow. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Very poor quality. The keel was bent and gun didn't meet up with the hole. Very flimsy and non functional. Didn't expect this from an acme product.

This is a good whistle but since it is intended as a present I did expect it to come with a set of instructions on how to blow the various calls. I bought one a few months ago through Amazon for the same price. That came from a different seller (Romneys GmbH) and it included a full set of instructions on its use. I did expect to get exactly the same deal, but that was not to be??

the whistles were well liked and received by the recipitants, no complaints so far, ACME well known for quality goods, still have and use one of their Thunderer models.

This is fun for signals - whistling language of boats. The sound speaks well, and carries well without making people reach for their earplugs. Range of almost a 5th I think, depending on hand and breath control.

It looks good but mine was bent at the end maybe postal damage so only play a single note even after reshaping. My old one works well so it isn’t me.
