Bloodborne Vol. 3: A Song Of Crows (Graphic Novel) Paperback – August 27, 2019

This comic wasn't as good as the previous two volumes in the series.Just a note for those who haven't started this series yet, and who have played Bloodborne, Volume 1 is about the story of a nameless hunter who meets a hunter you meet in Old Yharnam during the events of the game. Volume 2 shows the beginning of the blood plague afflicting Yharnam. Volume 3 is about Eileen the Crow.The volumes don't need to be read in any order as they are standalones. I also recommend playing the games before you read the comics (they will grant you eyes). They will make more sense as you read them and you'll understand some of the references.However, this volume is more metaphysical than the previous volumes. Perhaps Eileen is in the Hunter's Nightmare. She keeps asking herself "When is this?" and other random questions. Not everyone will like this volume, but this shows a different side of Bloodborne. The story has less action, instead focusing more on the insanity that starts to seep into the minds of those who use the Old Blood and who must kill beasts - former humans.The artwork, while good, seems to have been the focus of the people who worked on this comic. There were a lot of short panels taking up the pages. That could have been cut down to fewer but larger panels showing scenes, because most of the scenes that got cut into a lot of tiny panels seemed to show the same thing, but from slightly different angles. But perhaps the reason why the story showed so many small panels was because the artist wanted to show us the world from Rom's perspective, who Eileen later meets. If that's the case, this volume is a lot deeper than I realized.

After reading the 1st and 2nd volumes I came into reading the 3rd volume with decent expectations. As the 1st volume is a nice in between of Action, World Building, and Atmosphere. While the 2nd Volume focuses on more of a personal take with nice twists and a morbid kind of story you would think was ripped right from the game of Bloodborne itself.After reading the 3rd volume however, I was a little disappointed that it heavily deviated from the rest of the volumes as there is no dialogue whatsoever, which wouldn't be problem if the story was at least somewhat easy to follow. This volume rather feels like weird fan service with no real plot or story, as they toss in a boss and even having the main character be a mysterious side character from the game. I'm giving the volume a solid four stars though because the art in this volume also tells a thousand words and perhaps another reading will reveal a story you can interpret for yourself.

Kids actually reading they enjoyed all the bloodborne books

If you like bloodborne then you probably like Eileen the Crow. And this is a good comic with her that was some amazing art. With that said by reading this you are going to experience an acid trip.

While not in the same vein as the stories before this one, it is a new and unique take on Eileen. Not as blood soaked and adrenaline pumping as the original atmosphere of Yharnam, the inner dialogue of the mysterious hunter brings a new light to the nightmare. Would encourage anyone interested in a new take on the hunter of hunters to read this story.

Finally my Bloodborne comic collection is complete. I've been looking for this book since my friend bought me two out of the four books for my birthday. Every store I've been to hasn't had this rare to find comic. Thanks guys!!

I loved it. Yes, it is more of an artistic piece than a story, but that is exactly what I enjoyed. The artwork is beautiful and demands your attention, demands that you study all of its wonderful details.Definutely deserves to be reread, and will need reread to fully understand the piece.

That was abstract. Eileen continues to be a puzzle. This is the third Bloodborne comic I have read and it is by far the most esoteric. Like a Picaso painting or the eldritch, unknowable strangeness of the great old ones.

This is a must have for all the bloodborne die hard fans. Tells you a story about the main universe and if you spot something the. You can relate it to the main story line game.

After the first 2 comics I naturally preordered this one and started reading 30 minutes ago when it was delivered. Sadly I am already finding it hard to continue just because of the cursive font used making every "r" look like an "n" or a "h". Can't imagine how tough this read will be for anyone with reading difficulties.The art as always is great, though I have noticed a couple of reused panels.Overall so far it's ok, but not my favourite of the 3 comics so far. I think leaving Eileen's backstory vague was great and this kinda kills some of her mystery.7/10 so far - If you like Eileen being a mystery or have trouble with cursive fonts it may be worth steering clear of this one.Edit - Just finished it and My rating has gone from a 7/10 to a 4/10. Whole pages of panels were reused, 1 reused and 2 reused but flipped. The flipped pages I get were used to suggest a "reflection" but still feels cheap to reuse panels that way that twice. And the last 50% of the book has very little text, 13/62 panels contain a sentence. So the story kind of drifts into nothing reallyThe art is still good, but the story just isn't that interesting. They took a character that was intriguing and didn't do anything with her.

The story is diluted, muddy. The character of Eileen the Crow in the game was clear and understandable. It had purpose. Here she is portrayed as some runaway mental patient. Meh.
