If you are British raising children abroad this book is ideal for teaching them about counties and locations of important pieces of British history

We were very disappointed with this book. We were looking for a colorfully designed map showing the regions/counties in the UK. Online this book looked promising. Once we got it we found that the maps were hard to read: from color choices distinguishing water from land to finding the names of the towns. It is more like a collection of trivia facts about each region rather than a good representation of these areas. Anyone interested in maps can do better looking at other more precise sources. Also the cover has started to bend and is now bowed upwards. Too much time has passed and we are unable to return it.

I bought this book to use with my Year 3 class, but after seeing how lovely it is, I’ve decided to keep it at home for my own three children and have ordered another to use at work. It is a beautiful book: beautiful illustrations, interesting facts with a good variety to them and well organised.

LOVE this book. It has different famous figures, foods, landmarks etc for all the counties of the UK. It's a really interesting read and the illustrations are lovely

A beautiful and information packed book about the counties of the British Isles to share with my Grandsons when they visit. I know they will find it's many aspects interesting. I do ! Thank you !

It's got a lot of text. More for dipping in and out of, than for sitting down to read through. A good introduction to people and places in UK.
