Description Baytril is an antibacterial chewable tablet for dogs and cats. This medication is formulated for the management of diseases associated with certain bacteria including those causing skin, urinary and respiratory tract infections. Baytril kills a wide-range of disease-causing bacteria directly at the sight of infection and has been used for this purpose for over 20 years. Uses Baytril antibacterial tablets are indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections of the urinary tract, prostate, liver, GI tract and other body systems. Fluoroquinolone antibiotics work by blocking the bacteria's ability to make DNA. This results in death of susceptible bacteria. What results can I expect? Baytril is absorbed from the intestinal tract into the bloodstream. It ultimately settles in the affected body system where it works to kill susceptible bacteria. This medication needs to be given for several days in order to achieve optimal results. If doses are missed or if treatment is stopped before the regimen is completed, infection may recur or worsen.
