Is this waterproof? If so, how deep?

The advertisement shows it under running water, in a glass of water and also covered in soap suds. It better be waterproof or I’ll be returning a drowned watch. Just sayin’.

will the black painted surface rub off over time?

It's possible. But it's ion plated supposedly, so hopefully the finish will last a while. As for the numbers, they might be more susceptible to being rubbed off. I've had this watch since February 2017 and it shows no sign of the finish or numbers coming off so far.

The light for "am" will not turn off when i try to set the time. How do I get the light to turn off?

It is 12 hours format, you can set the hours, if the am light is turn on, it is AM, otherwrise it is PM

思ったより重量があり、本体の厚みもあってそこそこの重厚感。サイバーチックなブルーLEDで表示されるバイナリ系の文字盤は、ボタンを押して光らせるだけでSF感をこれでもかと演出します。それだけです。時計としての実用性は皆無、本体の塗装も若干ゃ粗いところがあり、近くでまじまじと見られるような状況は避けたいです。とはいえ、スマホ社会となった今では細かい時間を見るならポケットからスマホを出してサイドボタンをポチっと押すなりすればいいので、このくらいファッショナブルな腕時計でも全く問題はないと思います。常に光っているのかと思いましたがそうではなく、二つあるボタンのどちらかを押せば文字盤が光り、数秒間現在時刻を表示してくれます。文字盤が光っている状態で上のボタンを押せば日付が、下のボタンを押せば調整モードに入ります。結構明るいので映画館などの暗所、もしくは潜入任務なんかを生業にする人には全く向きません。コスプレ、もしくは普通と違う自分を演出したい方に。
