What size screws do these shelves use? My shelves came without an accessory kit.

They are small machine screws. Maybe metric. The screws should have come with set.

The "instructions" only have pictures not instructions. The screws don't appear to attach to anything? How do I attach?

I also struggled with that. Take one of the shelves. Note the size of the screw hole. Now, using all 3 of your hands (LOL, this is tricky if you don't have someone to help!) place one section of the leg, line up the screw holes . NOTE the holes in the leg stand are smaller than the holes in the shelf itself. Insert the screw from the TOP. Because the hole in the leg is smaller, the screw tightens into small hole and all holds together very well. DON'T FORGET THAT THIRD HAND!!
