Q: Is this similar to butter buds or molly mcbutter?

Both Molly McButter and Butter Buds are made using real butter product, which means it's butter without the fat. That also means you would not add it to the oil or it would burn. It also means they don't contain salt, which is fine if you're on a sodium-restricted diet, but not so much if the whole point is to salt your popcorn. Some reviewers have complained that this salt settles to the bottom too fast. If that's the case, they would really *not* want to use Molly McButter or Butter Buds because they're size is much bigger and would not mix well with the product.

Q: How much did you put in or do you put in? i made a bag of popcorn and maybe put in a tablespoon, maybe a little more, and it was super salty

You definitely put in too much. I put a little in my hand and take a little and sprinkle it over the popcorn. I then mix it up and put a little more in if it needs it. Be very careful because it is easy to over salt.

Q: Can i add this to the machine's kettle with the oil and kernels? or does it only go on popped popcorn

When I tried to pour the buttery salt on popcorn after it popped It i’ll just drop to the bottom of the bowl.Although I have an air popper I put a bit of oil in with the kernels and put the salt in at the same time that worked out better. Not perfect but better.
