Are the end caps also made of 304 stainless steel?

I don’t know if they’re the same metal for certain but appear to be. I still can say that I love this shower rod. Very sturdy and looks great!

Is the rubber end plate removable so that cafe curtain hooks/clips can be put in rod?

That I do not know. My shower curtain clips are gold open ended in S kind of shape

I like to mount with screw, could I sneak a hole and drill through these endcaps? Don't like tension only and none sell mounted brushed gold rods!
