It is small enough. We have used the mini birthday Thomas on a cake before. It does have a little weight to it but it still worked for us.

Does this Bertie hook onto other engines ?

no. none of them do, not from any of the sets. they don't have a magnet or hook at the front.

Why do the trackmasters push along thomas need a aa battery? if they are push alongs.

There is no battery required. Unfortunately Amazon makes it very hard for their 3rd party sellers make changes to listings. They deny changes because they say the manufacturer is in control of the listing. This is why you see so many sellers going to other selling platforms. Hopefully this is helpful to you.
