What is the base made out of, and how does it do with vibration? (for use on a computer desk)

Hello Kade. The base is powder coated and made from cast iron. It features a rubber gasket on the bottom to absorb vibration. The base is weighted so it really is intended for floor use but should be ok if used on a computer desk. Thanks!

What are the dimensions of the base?

4.5 x 8". Heavy too. Mine has been extremely sturdy and very adjustable.

My fifine mic has a 3/8" female adapter. this stand's mic connector has an externally threaded 5/8" thread and internal 3/8" thread. how to fit?

I, too, was puzzled by this at first when I tried to set up my EV RE320 mic with this stand. Thanks to the first reply above, problem solved! (Thanks!) To remove the female adapter, you need to unscrew the nut, then I had to use some gentle pressure with some pliers to get it to move. Once I loosened it, it came off easily, and the microphone fit onto the stand. Keeping the female adapter and nut secured in my mic case for when/if I need it.

Will this fit the presonus M7 mic?

Sure. It will fit any standard mic in the same way as a regular stand.
