Does the mirror tilt forward/back? It looks like it should but then there’s no knobs on the sides?

The mirror is fixed at two points at the middle for that reason. Yes, of course it tilts. No knobs needed as the mirror pivots in the middle (center of mass) so it will stay where you put it.
