Hantek6022BL PC USB Digital Storage Oscilloscope 2(Digital)+16(Logic) Channel

This hantek scope is extremely good for the money. First off, I have never used Hanteks software supplied or downloaded. I knew exactly before I bought this what I was going to do with it. First off, for my android tablet there's a application called "Hscope" It's an excellent application for making this a portable scope / floating. Seriously you need this app. It's only 12 Euros.As a Linux user myself, there's two applications that are superior. "OpenHantek" and PluseView for the logic analyser.Just be aware that you can't do AC and there's also a hardware mod on EEVBLOG for AC Coupling in which "OpenHantek" Also supports or gives you the option to enable if you have the hardware mod done.Be careful with the input signals that you want to measure, make sure you have the right probe setting / 1x /10x etc selected before hooking up higher voltages.For the money I am very happy with this piece of equipment thanks to the online community and the creator of "Hscope" for Android, then this piece of hardware would be useless and I wouldn't have bought it.

I bought this so that I could have a visual indication of what was going on in my mainly low voltage, low frequency circuits. To update some of the previous comments here, it does work on Windows 10; drivers are available on the Hantek website. And the button on the back needs to be in the pushed-in position when you connect to the pc, apparently to load the drivers. The scope works as expected, but on very high sensitivity settings there is a fair amount of noise on the traces. This can be alleviated simply with an op amp before the input – the picture (taken in an electrically noisy environment) shows the raw signal as measured by probe in yellow, with the 10x amplified signal using the other probe in green, bringing the signal out of the ‘built-in’ noise. Certainly usable if a little fiddly, but using the external circuit allows you to add AC coupling – as supplied this scope is DC input only, max 35v pk - so I shall probably knock up a separate input module to provide the AC/DC and gain functions. In summary, it takes up little space on a workbench that already has a PC on it, and for me it lets me see and measure the voltages and waveforms I want. It is not a precision piece of kit – the price reflects that – but if that’s what you want you’ll pay a lot more; for what I’ve paid, I’m happy.

I bought this for the odd occasions when I absolutely have to float the ground connection or when only a battery powered ultra portable 'scope will do. At timebase settings of 2us/div and under it takes about 1000 samples at a time at the full 48Ms/s rate. By default, the supplied software performs sinusoidal interpolation which means with care you can use the scope on waveforms quite close to the Nyquist limit. At 5us/div and up it samples at a lower rate of 16Ms/s or less. Whilst this makes sense given the display resolution, it does mean that aliasing becomes an issue and glitches will most likely be missed. The free third party software "BasicScope" uses the sample buffer to provide a very effective delayed trigger function.The input attenuator provides real sensitivities of 100, 200, 500 and 1000mV/div. All other ranges are implemented in software. Inputs clip at +/-5V so 2 and 5V/div ranges are of limited use. This isn't too much of an issue as the good quality 'scope probes supplied are *10 or *1 switched. DC coupling only.The logic analyser software supplied is rather limited. It doesn't even have a waveform trigger function. Fortunately, there is a sneaky switch which allows the logic analyser to be used with third party software. This does provide a number of trigger functions and understands common protocols. 20 good quality probe clips are included for use on DIL ICs in case anyone still uses these!I could not get the drivers on the software CD to install and ended up using the ones downloaded from the Hantek web site. Under XP these installed as per the instructions but on 7 I had to do a manual installation through the Device Manager.Since first posting this review I have written oscilloscope software specifically for this model. This runs under Linux and is available on GitHub as the "Hantek-6022BL". It overcomes a lot of the shortcomings of the Windows software providing much improved performance at 48Ms/s with five fold upsampling, more robust trigger, delayed trigger, hold off, add, invert and variable vertical sensitivity. A 16Ms/s sampling rate is maintained down to 5ms/div so that a special "glitch" mode can display short pulses which would normally be missed.

Doesn't find or install drivers for windows 10. No information on Windows 10 in the 'Manual' very poor installation process. It's okay but for the price range it's in you're probably better off buying the PicoScope 2204A (little bit more money but much more functionality - also installs one-shot, no hassle)

Don't buy this if you have a 'modern' version of windows i.e, Windows 10 or 11. Trying to get the USB drivers to work is and absolute nightmare!! I know Windows and be a bit of a pain with drivers but even so this product and Hantek take it to a WHOLE new level. Even if you get it working and get a get some use out of it, I can guarantee the next time you try to use it you will be faced with the device not being recognised and the Hantek UI just stuck at 'Searching device...". For an occasional use the time and effort getting the hardware (re)recognised is just not worth it. Which is a shame coz once it is working it's an all right product, reasonable hardware massively let down by poor diever software.
