Variety Gourmet Saltwater Taffy (Assorted, 2 LB)

Bought these for my mom who loves salt water taffy. We were both Very happy with these.Love the bulk 5lb option. Came with a lot of pieces of candy. Perfect small snack size for a sugar craving. Each candy was individually wrapped. They arrived in perfect condition. Very soft and very very chewy. Tasted very fresh to me.This was a variety pack so it had different flavors. No idea what flavor til you ate it. Candy is two tone or three tone. While it’s a variety there are a lot of the same flavors. Love that each piece was individually wrapped and it was easy to open. All I had to do was untwist sides and open.If you like salt water taffy I would say this is great. Pieces are not very large but they have a great overall taste. Not hard at all - very soft.

I don’t eat much candy. But, I got a craving for saltwater taffy and wanted some like I used to get when I was a kid. The kind where each flavor is just bursting with flavor and you knew exactly what the flavor was. Nobody needed to tell you. You knew if it was peppermint, black licorice, blueberry, strawberry, orange, chocolate, caramel, coconut, banana, lemon, mango, etc. That’s such a fun experience as a kid to bite into the flavors and there’s no question that you know from first bite exactly what the flavor is. The differences between them are so distinct and a great taste bud experience. This taffy was nothing like that. A lot of it was rather soft instead of chewy like salt water taffy should be. And practically every color tasted almost exactly the same. The only one that had a definite different taste was the green sour… I guess green apple? It was gross. Too sour. But mostly, way too runny and melted. Didn’t even have a taffy texture at all. Anyway, I was shooting for the experience that I had when I was a kid and this was nothing like that. No matter what the color of the candy was, it all tasted the same, like I said, other than the green sour one. Very very disappointing. I’m not much on doing reviews, and especially not negative reviews. But. of feel like people should be warned on this one. If you want a whole bag of differently colored toffee that you’re expecting to taste all the same, then I guess it would be for you. But, if you’re wanting the excitement and surprise of different familiar flavors that you can readily guess and appreciate, then you’re not going to be happy with this one.

The package was delivered in 100 degree heat and the taffy was stuck to the wrapper! I put it in the freezer and it was perfect! Just like the salt water taffy I had as a child on the Jersey boardwalk! Excellent product!!

Most are fresh. The green ones are unedible. They're gooey and stuck together. In general, this group is on the bland side. The flavors are modest. No licorice, chocolate, maple, etc.

I got this taffy mainly because my girlfriend loves taffy, and we have fun figuring out the flavors together etc. It was such a big ba for not too much money, and the array of flavors was impressive. Unfortunately these have soy in them, which I am allergic to, and therefore was unable to share these with my girlfriend. She tells me that although it's not bad, it's not great. She says it's too soft, for one thing, she likes a chewier taffy, and she says the flavors are very subtle or non-existent. I will not be buying this again.

Quality of the taffy is pretty good, not as good as if you were to get some from a shop in a coastal town but still good nonetheless. My only issue is for an "Assorted Mix" my bag had very little variety in the selection of taffy. Literally 95% of the 5 pound bag was the same 3 flavors (peppermint, peach?, and some green one with an odd flavor.) mind you there's like 300 pieces of taffy in the bag so for them to almost all be the same is crazy. Maybe I just got unlucky or this is their way of disposing of the flavors that don't sell well.

Freaking stuff's addictive! Not too sticky (which my bridgework appreciates) & the flavors are great! The candy takes me back to (and I risk dating myself here) my childhood & the great taste of Bonomo' Turkish candy. (Never did figure out why the odd name since it was made in Ohio) and it was always hard to decide on which flavor. Banana - my personal favorite - chocolate or strawberry.. They could be really hardened by putting them into the freezer for about 30". Frozen or not you slapped the bar on any hard surface to break it in pieces and it might take you half an hour to finish one. Best 5¢ you could spend. These cost very little considering how many neatly wrapped candies are in the 2-lb bag. Oh, and I do keep a number in the freezer so I can suck on them while doing other things. Keeps me from binging on them too fast.This sugar free taffy comes in about 6 flavors & all of them are yummy. If you didn't know it was made without cane sugar you couldn't tell. My hubby positively hates diet anything and claims he can tell in one bite if it's made with sugar substitute. He was on his eighth or ninth piece before the label caught his eye. ROFLMAOFair warning... I don't recommend eating too many at once in the beginning because the primary sweetener is maltitol. Eat too many per day & you'll be living in the bathroom for hours. We found the OTC anti diarrheal med loperamide 2mg. taken at the first signs of overindulgence works best at relieving symptoms. Oh, and my one friend says he had terrible gas a few hours after eating almost a dozen in ~30 min. He was glad he was working from home to be sure! Another friend said that after decades of suffering from constipation & being aware of how dangerous laxatives can be if taken on too frequent a basis she's delighted to have eliminated that problem. (Pun intended)If you love taffy but you're on a sugar free diet these will quickly become your favorite treat.
