Q: Currently i have a static system.can i install it (rp140) in my unfinished basement? if not what would be the issue?

No the fan has to be installed either outside on the side of the house with the vent pipe terminating above the roof line or in the attic venting through the roof. The reason is that if for any reason the system develops a leak you will technically be pumping your basement full of radon.
