Fast paced and interesting
It was a really nice fast paced book. Though the twist and turns were little expected but its still a good one. The side characters needed development and the damsel in distress who gets saved everytime before trouble actually finds her feels so similar to so many others. But the storyline is good and its actually a good one time read.

Loved loved loved this book!!
While the first book set the stage, this book was total action. I loved reading it so much and did I tell you how much in love I am with Commander Rip already?! It was a little difficult to try to understand Auren’s point of view and her helplessness in certain situations and yet I felt so proud every time she would just spread her wings a little more. I loved all the little surprises that the author put in the story; it kept me on my toes. It was written so well and I am so glad I took a chance and read this series because I feel like my life’s gonna change. I am gonna have a new book boyfriend and a new favourite fantasy world that I am gonna be obsessed with.

Mesmerizing, powerful and wonderful read.
Glint seamlessly takes over from Gild. I literally binge-read this and immediately picked up the third book! After having spent a terrible time as a hostage with snow pirates, Auren is now taken hostage by the Fourth Kingdom under the leadership of Commander Rip. Rip is a mysterious, formidable and intimidating Fae with fierce warriors as his close circle. Expecting similar callous and violent behavior from Fourth Kingdom’s soldiers and especially from their leader, Auren is in a constant state of panic, fear and defiance. But when soldiers and Rip treat her with respect - completely opposite of what she came to expect, she is torn between truth and lies. Slowly but surely she forms a tentative bond with Rip and his circle and the whole bonding was a treat to read.“𝙄'𝙫𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙗𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙤 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙤𝙩 𝙄 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙖 𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚"I was fascinated by the way things progressed in this book. It was all about character development and the introduction of new equally fascinating characters. I loved to see how Auren grew throughout the book. How slowly but surely she realized the things about herself and the fact that she allowed people, allowed Midas to walk over her. I absolutely adore Commander Rip and loved to see how he forced Auren to look deep within herself and realize that she wasn’t a pet or souvenir to be adorned but so much more than that.Mesmerizing, powerful and wonderful read. Absolutely recommend.

Keeps getting better
Having been ambushed and kidnapped by the Red Raids, and then consequently bought by the Fourth Kingdom’s army, Auren is understandably frightened and exhausted. Constantly keeping up her guard, missing Midas, mourning the loss of Sail, and trying dutifully not to let Rip’s words plant the seeds of doubt in her mind and her heart is all taking its toll. The Fourth army keep treating her well though, she even feels like she’s built a sort of camaraderie with some of the soldiers - something she can’t claim about the other royal saddles. No matter how much she tries to help or befriend them, they have nothing but hatred and contempt for her.And then there’s Rip. He constantly makes her question her life with Midas, and underneath it all makes her feel something for him that she’s not ready to acknowledge. Will King Ravinger give her back to Midas? Or will he start a war starring Auren as collateral damage?I was so torn over my feelings for Auren in this one! She is so so soooo naive, to the point that I just wanted to shake her and scream in her face! But in a way I understand it. She’s been with Midas since she was 15. She doesn’t know any different and he is the first person that was kind to her. That looked after her.We get a few chapters from Queen Malina’s POV and one from Midas’ in this book. At first I sympathised with Malina but honestly she’s just another privileged, entitled, snobby, miserable, manipulative monarch.I absolutely loved the members of the Fourth that we got to know. Their bond and loyalty was wonderful and unwavering. They treated Auren like an equal, not a prisoner, even tried to help her and train her.I did guess Auren’s big secret but I did NOT see the twist at the end coming!Book 3, here I come!

High Fantasy Brilliance
This may have just become my new favourite fantasy series. We learn so much more about Auren and her transformation into the Gilded One through this book. We also get to see her begin to break out of her cage, pun absolutely intended. She's grown so much over the weeks in this book and even may have made some new allies. Or has she?I hope book 3 comes out soon because I'm DESPERATE for answers!

A fantastic story
Wow!A fantastic story with a twistKings and Queens, rich and poor.Fae and magicLauren lives safe and secure in a cage that Midas has created for her, to keep her safe? But keep her safe from what? The only person who loves her is Midas, but does he? She's his favoured so is disliked by the others, the queen hates her so she feels safe in her cage. But through court manipulations Auren is moved towards the 5th kingdom, where Midas awaits for her.She and her retinue are captured by snow pirates, who were tipped off.( by whom)?Scared and concerned about her fellow prisoners, Auren’sgroup are then captured by the 4th kingdom, who as a show of good faith offer to escort them back to king Midas. But along the way, the commander and his officers show Auren a different view of life and make her question herself and her choices.I was concerned about how the book was going to finish and I'm hoping the book 3 is written soon.x

Truly addictive read. Excellent fantasy.
Ooh... What a twist... I did not see that coming.A brilliant story of a timid soul finding her strength and breaking her gilded cage. A vivid story and world building, but twisty. Unable to truly discern enemy from frenemy from friend. Story moved seamlessly from character to character, from chapter to chapter angst and plot twists keeps building. The book ensnares you and keeps you captive. And I am rushing to read book 3 as it leaves you right on the cusp. Thank goodness book 3 is available. Here's to finding it as alluring and captivative.Book 4 better hurry up

Beautifully written, can’t wait for the next
First off, anything from Raven is going to be fantastic. The writing style of these books are just so beautiful, which is different to some of her others, but suits these stories. Like everyone else who read Gild, I couldn’t wait for Glint to come out! This was worth the wait! I loved the character development of Auren in this book, I can’t wait for her personality to shine as much as her skin, I’m here for it! I loved seeing her interactions with other characters too, shout-out to the cook for those warm fuzzy friendship feels! Loved all the twists and turns. Left again on a cliffhanger and so many questions left from the book, leaving me bursting with anticipation for the next one!
