Q: Is this recommended for palm trees also? i live in texas.

I use burlap and plastic to wrap a fig tree. I live in Philadelphia, and this does the trick throughout the cold winter months. I don't know how sensitive palm trees are in the cold, but make sure to wrap the bottom of the tree from the ground up. Good luck!

Yes, you can use it year to year, but you would need to fully dry it prior to storage.

Q: Is this burlap real rough and itchy?

I've never known burlap not to be rough and itchy. but this is not especially so, perhaps less so than I might have expected.
