Heavy steel, fits standard wall oven. Holds heat well, crusts are crisp, the trick with this is to have it in your oven when you turn the heat on so the steel is at oven temp, 500F+, when you put the pizza in to cook. When cool, it is easy to clean with a brush or damp cloth.If you get it wet, dry it thoroughly and turn the oven on to evaporate any remaining moisture to avoid rust.

Cooks a great pizza. Just wonderful.Only problem is that it is a little big for, and doesn’t fit all that well into, the standard sized 60 cm oven in Australia (slightly too big for the trays) which is a bit disappointing. I wish I’d got a smaller size.

I've been using a pizza stone for years, but after reading the Pizza Bible and other expert books, I was intrigued by the idea of using a steel (or 2, as is often recommended). This set of steels is well worth the money, in my opinion. They hold their heat very, very well, and heat up quicker than a stone. Be aware that they are heavy because they are so thick (which is a good thing) and so make sure you have space for them, and a sturdy set of oven or grill mitts.
