It’s a Wes Anderson film!
If you enjoy Wes Anderson movies in general you are likely going to enjoy this. Looks well done and has that intriguing Wes Anderson ‘feel & look’ about it and it never hurts to look up some insight or movie breakdowns when it comes to some of his films but that’s what makes them intriguing and worth rewatching!

A great Wes Anderson film that should really be watched in three sittings..!!
You either more or less love Wes Andwrson's films or you're the kind of person that just doesn't get it. If you are a lover of Wes's films like me, then read on.The first thing that struck me was despite the fact that the visuals are as stunningly Andersonian as ever, at the same time, this film is very dialoge-heavy: more so than any other Wes Anderson film. This makes watching all three segments plus the mini-fourth chapter... totally exhausting. I thoroughly recommend watching Chapters 1, 2 and 3 separately at different viewings. Each chapter is a short movie in its own right. Watching the film in its entirety in one sitting is not for the impatient, distractable or librarian-esque viewers among us.Viewed as three separate short films, "The French Dispatch" is slowly becoming my favourite Wes Anderson film.

Another Anderson treat
Offbeat, funny love letter to magazine journalism and a fading era. A little uneven in places, but rewards you for staying until the end. Plenty of memorable characters and interesting, well-written stories illustrated with Anderson's characteristic wit and flair.

THIS FILM IS FOR FANS OF THE NEW YORKER, NOT NECESSARILY WES ANDERSON FANS
If you have never followed The New Yorker, now approaching its 100 year birthday, it’s a good chance you will not be able to relate to this great film. Wes Anderson long-time die-hard fan of the magazine, and it shows. There are real folks hidden behind the name-changed characters, the great journalists and writers, and the original editor and co-founder of the magazine Harold Ross. Ross deserves his own story- he quit school at 13 to become a newspaperman! The film is quirky, just like the magazine, and the film is not afraid to make fun of itself. The film uses unique stagecraft, black and white, and color mixing live-action and animation–it is a whirlwind! Watching the film is almost like turning the pages of this wonder of a magazine from your most comfortable chair. At the end of the film, there is a “dedication page” for all those talented writers whose typewriters ceased to tap-tap-tap long ago but whose words live on forever. If you are interested, the entire magazine is online, almost 100 years worth via subscription. The online layout is exactly like the magazine, including the original ads run in each issue. If you want to have fun, search for your birthday, and see what the world was like the day you were born. This is a fantastic film with a great ensemble cast; I cant wait to watch it again.

We have watched it four times and still love it
A movie that we can watch again and again... and have! Funny, except when it is hilarious. Light, but with a lot happening that rewards multiple viewings. It was the first movie since the first Star Wars came out ages ago that my wife and I agreed that we could just watch it twice in a row, and so we did. And we enjoyed the second time just as much as the first. It is just a brilliant movie, right up there with Rushmore and Fantastic Mr. Fox, and maybe better.Just in case it sounds like an uncritical Wes Anderson love letter, we both hated Asteroid City.
