I have only tried this item for peeling hard boiled eggs. It didn’t work very well because it is too thick and it gouges the eggs. I’m still going to try it for other things like avocados. I’m not giving up on it yet but I did buy it for eggs.

I thought I would try it since it’s made in Sweden and not overpriced. Got it yesterday, boiled 6 eggs, shelled 2 while hot, just cooled under tap, bashed out the bottom inserted peeler spoon, rotated and shell came off. Did some cleanup underwater but it worked well, no mess. Best not to insert too high, just rotate around bottom and use water to finish cleanup, simple & easy.

But once you've discovered how delightfully effective they are at releasing even the very freshest boiled eggs, unscathed & divot-free, from their shells, you may find yourself wishing you could personally send an extra check to the designer of this little tool.It's sorta nice that these come only in 2-packs, rather than being sold individually; once you've experienced the joy of using this tool, you can give the 2nd one to a friend who deserves a little quiet glee in his or her life. :-)

I like these way more than I expected to. In fact I wasn't going to buy them thinking that I could just use a spoon and do the same thing. However they do make piercing the shell easy and by going underneath the shell in a circular sort of motion that's the shell off nice maybe two or three pieces. That's way better than I usually to and I don't have tiny eggshell pieces.

This little kitchen gadget is AMAZING!! Just tap the bottom (big side of the egg) to crack it. Then gently insert the egg peeler under the shell and slide it around the egg! Like another reviewer said, it helps if you pull up on the peeler a bit as you rotate it around the egg. It feels like you will gouge the egg but you don't! The shell comes off in big pieces with the membrane holding the pieces together. I can now peel a dozen eggs in only a few minutes! We have laying hens so I know my eggs were fairly fresh that I was peeling, too. We stuck it in the dishwasher and it came out fine. I was kind of hesitant to purchase this, but I am so glad I did! I will be gifting this to family members this year because I found it so helpful and useful!
