Q: Is this barbie shiny?

It has the same skin tone as most Barbie’s. The only difference is this barbie has vitiligo where her “skin” is two different colors in patches. She is beautiful!

Q: Why are the new fashionista dolls hair now so stiff like a toilet brush?

You can call Mattel and they should be able to help you with that. What I do is wash the hair with shampoo and conditioner or even fabric softner, let it dry, my dolls hair comes out very soft. I do understand your concern.

Q: Is vitiligo all over most of her body?

Hi, Her Vitiligo ,is only present on the face, under the eyes, chin, upper arms and upper chest on my doll, she is very pretty and very nicely done, I purchased two for redressing. Enjoy!

Q: why would the description not include the Barbie has vitiligo? People are going to think it’s a defensive Barbie and it’s not? Disappointing.

My daughter has suffered from vitiligo for a number of years . She has always covered it up to avoid people judging her . This year she decided not to hide it anymore . I’m so proud of her and even though she’s 50 years old I thought she deserved this wonderful doll !!
