They use to only have the liquid which works well but is nowhere near as good as the cream
I have been using this product ever since I can remember finding it. About 15 years ago? They use to only have the liquid which works well but is nowhere near as good as the cream. I'm in my mid 50's and have/had blonde hair so I obviously can't speak for any other hair colors. Skip the liquid and buy this. The liquid is more difficult to deal with then the cream which you just rub in. They all smell the same which is to say they smell like chemicals.I go from completely gray to my regular color in just 4 applications with just a few hints of gray here and there. Interestingly enough according to there website they don't tell you how long to keep THIS PARTICULAR version in your hair. They have 3 different versions. They have links to the directions in there other versions as to how long for those but not this one. It also doesn't say anywhere in the directions that come with it. It does say however regarding the other versions and under usage directions... "Youthair should be left on the hair for at least 6-8 hours per application."A confusing website regarding times seeing they have regular liquid, super youthair and lead free (this version). Anyway due to various reasons a handful of times over the years I have gone from completely gray or almost completely gray back to my regular hair color. Even though they don't recommend it I take and old towel on occasions, put it over my pillow and sleep with it on once it's dried in my hair. It will stain fabric but I haven't had it be permanent.I leave it on for about 6-7 hours but during the maintaining stage I have left it on some of the time for as little as 4 hours and it has been completely effective. Again, I have blonde hair so I have found I can get away with once a week in the maintaining stage most of the time as long as I don't do 4 hours all the time and do my best to do 6-7 hours. If I start to see to much gray come back i'll do it twice in a week leaving it in longer. What works for me is the moment I get home from work I put it straight away in my hair. If I go out I wait for it to dry (20-30 minutes) and throw on a baseball cap that I don't care about.I have also found in my case when you are changing your hair color for the first time and using it throughout the week (not just once in the maintaining stage) that no matter how much you use soap and water directly after applying it your nails will look like you just worked on your car. Also be aware that some shampoo's and conditioners will slow the process dramatically if you have them in your hair during the changing stage. Just be sure to read the directions thoroughly that comes with it.

Effective product
I don't like hair coloring shampoo . This product gradually darkens hair and maintains that color.

It Works Gradually
And that's a good thing! I bought the smaller tube of the brown cream.I began to really notice in pictures, my hair graying a bit more than the 'salt-n-pepper' look, which I didn't mind too much. I wouldn't dye my hair, but this product seemed like a good maintenance kind of easy solution. The product works gradually, so I can decide when it looks 'right.' I'm not looking to abolish the gray, just to tone it down. This is the right product for that.My hair is pretty thick, with a color of medium brown, maybe with some blonde highlights in it during the summer months of sunny weather. The instructions say to use it about 3 times a week, so that's what I did. I just messaged it into my hair, towel dried but still damp.At the end of the first week, I could absolutely see a difference, but it was very subtle. Still, it covered enough of the gray that I'm already thinking of using it less. Now, I'm at the end of week two, still using it 3 times a week, skipping days between usage.I probably still have gray, but I don't really see it much. It looks natural, and I look my appropriate age. In week two, I really only noticed gray around the temples, which is actually not a bad look for a guy in his late 50's. But this stuff works so gradually, that I decided to test out covering the gray even in those areas, so I made sure to focus on those areas, week two.Very happy with it! I still have a mild salt-n-pepper look, but it's very light, and not really noticeable. So, after two weeks I can say this product has worked. And now, I can decide from week to week or in between hair cuts if I want the gray to look more or less prominent. After just two weeks, I have the result I was looking for. It was easy, and looks completely natural. No one has even noticed a difference, which is really what you want.Just follow the directions & you'll gradually get the results you want. Also, don't blow dry your hair the day you use it. The heat from the hair dryer locks the color in more permanently, and you don't want that! Just let the product do it's work gradually. You can still shampoo it and use styling products anytime, and even blow dry your hair on the days you don't use it.So, yeah, after two weeks, it works to the point that I'll use it less, then mainly just between haircuts. If you used other stuff that didn't work, or made you look ridiculous, you can safely use this stuff. Maybe start with the smaller bottle, like I did. After two weeks, I've only used about a quarter of it.

Youth hair in blue tube
Made a mistake of buying 5 of these as my usual was out of stock. There in the trash, worst product I’ve ever bought.

Works over night but it stains
This product works overnight, but it has to be applied too often. It washes out with ease, but it will also stain towels and shirt collars. If you did not have to use it so much or it did not stain towels and shirt collars, it would be a good product.
