Vette rock out!
Just installed the 8 inch, powered tube in my 2019 Vette to replace a large Subthump, 2-10 inch speaker sub box. I didn’t have the Subthump in use for long simply because it was taking up valuable trunk space, and the much smaller MTX paired very well with the factory Bose system. I’m an older rock guy, but I can hear quality and I’m actually surprised how much better it made the system sound besides space saving. Be advised, a Corvette coupe is open to the trunk. I point the speaker rearward towards slanted hatch and the bass is pretty epic. I’ve had a Bazooka in an enclosed hatch on my boat and although it supplied a needed punch, this particular sound scenario is bomb. I usually wait to review items, but I was very happy with first results from sonic standpoint. One con, the speaker is unprotected and will definitely need a grill over the speaker to keep it from puncture. Although they are available, it’s an annoying $20 additional to spend and install when it should have come complete with one included. This unit is meant to be Placed in an active trunk, the speaker is like a target.

Expectations (Reality)
As a former car audio installer, I've seen (and heard) it all. As I grew older (and produced music), I understood what bass meant to music. Its a necessity. I bought this speaker bc I understand that you don't need to have 2 - 15"s to produce bass. Why am I telling you this? Great question! This speaker does what its to do to add the element of bass in your vehicle. Now, if your wanting to be heard around the block or want "outshine" your friends, this isnt the set up for you. I'm running a Kenwood radio powering the MB Quart factory size speakers (6x8) and this sub. The truck I have it in (extended cab F-350) has all the sound I need. Its a good speaker (with the wiring set) for the money. If you want a lot of bass, you'll want to go with an amp that's 500 watts or more and something like a single monster speaker or dual 12". I didn't want to take up my whole back seat. Saves space and decent sound for what it is. As long as your expectations for a $185 speaker/amp and isnt high, you'll love this set up.

Purchase a separate sub and amp, in my opinion
Would have been better off buying a larger sub maybe 10 inch and separate amp. In the trunk there was no more bass output over the factory 8 inch sub. It’s now sitting in our basement storage room. I had MTX growing up as a teen so the quality was awesome. This one didn’t meet that expectation.

Great bass
Great product! The price was right, installation for two amateurs took about 3 hours. Increased the bass and sound quality 100%. My sons 1997 Dakota sound great n turns our neighbors heads before he passes their house. Previously installed a kenwood apple play deck with jbl speakers, don’t hesitate you will be completely satisfied!

Works Great!!!
First off ….its NO professional setup but if you are wanting to add a little extra bump bump in the trunk of your Mommy Missile then this thing is perfect….My wife’s Hyundai Santa Fe has great Highs and Mids but the Bass was just not there….I slapped this thing in the back and wired it up to the factory stereo and was very impressed with the overall quality of sound and how it looks!!! Very good value!!!! It doesn’t perform as well as my Memphis setup but within its own weight class it was well worth the money

Hard hitter!
This little guy hits pretty hard for what it is, put it in the back of an 88 foxbody to make cruising a bit more enjoyable. Very happy with this purchase!

Put this in my daughter's car and she was happy, but it didn't quite hit as hard and clean as I had hoped. I spent my teens and twenties with a car audio addiction and know 8" subs can hit hard, not usually as low as something larger, but they do wonders with kick drums and other punchy sounds. This box, being ported, tends to sacrifice quality hard hitting bass, that a sealed enclosure would offer, in exchange for louder more boomy bass that sounds muddy to my ears.Cant really go wrong for the price and ease of install... just wish this came in a sealed enclosure. And the lack of a grill is a real downer. I have seen too many punctured subs to think that the grill is unnecessary. This goes in the trunk along with all the other junk that people toss in there that slides/rolls around. Put a grill on it.
