You don't know what color you will get but you know the quality will be great. I like them so much I have purchased my 3rd one. I am setting up watering my garden areas and I always seem to forget to turn the hoses off. This is a super easy solution and takes away the problem and waste of water. After you screw it to your spigot,just like you would your hose, you attach the hose to the other end, turn the water on and turn the dial to the length of time you want the water to run. I use it with the 4 Way Hose Splitter, Metal Hose Connector, 2 Pack Heavy Duty Garden Hose Splitter, 4 Valves, Easy Grip, Easy to Open, for 3/4" Hose Connector, Rust-Resistant Adapter, (2, Green, 4 Way Splitter). they work great together.

I purchased this Orbit Watering Timer (Part No. 62041) for two reasons. (1) It appeared to be constructed of metal and (2) It appeared to be of simple construction. My thought was to buy a simple timer and there would be fewer things to go wrong, and it would work for a long time.I was wrong. This timer worked for almost one summer and catastrophically failed.Here is what happens now. At the end of the watering cycle, the Orbit Watering Timer (Part No. 62041) will not shut off completely. It will not stop the water flow. The water flow is reduced but the water will not turn off completely. I put the garden hose in my pool, turned the water on full blast, and set the Orbit Watering Timer (Part No. 62041) to 45 minutes. From experience, I knew that 45 minutes of water on full blast would bring my pool to the correct water level. When I did this the Orbit Watering Timer (Part No. 62041) had been working perfectly for two months. I never considered it would malfunction.So, I left home to run some errands and never thought about the Orbit Watering Timer (Part No. 62041) again.About six hours later I turn onto my street, I live at the end of a very long, dead-end street, and I start to complain to my wife that whatever neighbor is letting their water run down the street is not the smartest, most environmentally conscious or considerate neighbor we have. Then, as I get closer to my house, I realize that I am, in fact, not the smartest, most environmentally conscious, or considerate neighbor on my street, especially after I partnered with the Orbit Company to keep my pool full of water.Of course, after parking the car, I followed the water from my street to the source and find out the Orbit Watering Timer (Part No. 62041) has been running at half flow for almost six hours. The water ran at half flow for an extra five hours and fifteen minutes. Not good, but that's not the worst part.I look up the Amazon order and find out that the Orbit Watering Timer (Part No. 62041) has a one-year warranty. Good news, or so I thought. I called Orbit. I cannot get a live person on the telephone. When you call the 1-800 number and press the appropriate buttons to file a warranty claim you find out all warranty claims are handled via online chat. I think, okay, no problem, but I was wrong again.I've attempted to file this warranty claim seven times via the online chat and am unable to complete the process successfully. For some reason, I'm randomly disconnected or after what I think is a successful warranty submission I get a message from the Orbit, ORBOT that states, "Excellent, I will pass this on to Orbit Customer Care and someone will reach out within the next business day between 7 am and 5 pm MST." As you may have predicted, it has been several days, and I haven't heard anything from Orbit Customer Care. In the meantime, the one-year warranty term has expired on my Orbit Timer.I finally decided to give up, Orbit beat me down. I have wasted so much time with this Orbit Watering Timer (Part No. 62041) thinking that surely there is someone at Orbit who cares, someone at Orbit who will do what they say they'll do, but no, that person is nowhere to be found. I also realized that if there is a person somewhere at Orbit they clearly do NOT want to be found.I still need a timer, they are really handy if they work correctly, so, now I am off to find a company that produces a well-built simple watering timer. Although this time I think I may call their warranty line first to see if a warranty claim can be successfully filled should the need arise.

Gardena hose system owners beware!If you use Gardena hose system components, this Orbit manual water timer may cause you problems.I bought the Orbit manual timer and set it up with a Gardena sprinkler, Gardena hoses and Gardena quick-connect connectors.The bottom line, before I diagnosed the issues, was that the timer shut off the water supply to my sprinkler when it should have been opening the water supply to my sprinkler. The timer was closing the valve to my sprinkler when it should have been opening the valve to my sprinkler. THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF THE EXPECTED FUNCTION OF THE TIMER!! I was dumbfounded. I couldn't understand why the timer shut of the water supply to my sprinkler when it was supposed to be sending water successively to my sprinkler.So I decided to disconnect most of my Gardena connection between my outdoor faucet and my sprinkler. When I disconnected most of the Gardena connections between my outdoor faucet and my sprinkler, the Orbit manual timer worked exactly as it is designed to operate.Here is a description of the configuration between my faucet and my sprinkler that included multiple Gardena connections that resulted in the timer turning off water supply when the objective was to have water supply flowing through the timer to the sprinkler successively. If you use this compilation of Garden connectors with your sprinkler and the Orbit manual timer, your sprinkler will not work properly with the Orbit manual timer.I had Gardena quick connectors attached to the end of my hose connected to my sprinkler. I had Gardena quick connectors attached to my hose connected to the output side of my Orbit timer. I had Gardena quick connect connectors attached between the input side of my Orbit timer and the Gardena connectors to the output side of my faucet. I configured it this way so that I could quickly and easily disconnect all of the components in the configuration.. Unfortunately, the Orbit timer got "confused" and reversed the expected functionality of the timer, i.e. it turned on the water when it needed to be turned off and it turned off the water when it needed to be turned on. In other words, when the timer was set to "0" hours, the water flowed to the sprinkler. When the timer was turned to a timed setting, no water flowed to the sprinkler.When I disconnected all but one of the 3 Gardena connectors I had connected between the faucet and the sprinkler, the timer worked correctly. Huh, scratched my head a lot before I diagnosed the issue and found a work-around. I'm not a fan of the work-around. When I reduced the Gardena connections from 3 connections to 1 connection, the problem was resolved. Whe wooda thunk? Right?If I had bought an electronic timer at higher cost and had the same problems, I'd be even more disappointed and frustrated. I don't know if the same issue will occur if you have a Gardena hose system and the Orbit manual timer or any other electronic timer. All I can say is, if you use a Gardena hose system, be aware that timers, whether manual or electronic, may not play nice with your Gardena system.

I bought two of these, one for the front yard and one for the back. So far, they're working well. Time will tell if they hold up, as I tend to break these water timers.

The timers are a bit off but I love that you can turn them on and walk away!!! Keeps you from draining your water tank.
