Hugo Mobility Explore Side-Fold Rollator Walker with Seat, Backrest and Folding Basket, Pearl Blk

I bought this walker because it was the lightest (15.4 lbs) walker with larger wheels that I could find. Large wheels make rolling over different surfaces and bumps easier. The lighter weight makes it easier to get it in and out of the car. I can fit it in the hatchback, or in the back seat which is not quite as high for me to lift it. I put the back wheels in first on the seat and just roll it until it is all the way in. To protect the seat from dirt from the wheels, I put a regular towel across the seat and then a plastic carpet runner on top of that. You can find lighter rollators, but they have the small wheels.Folding: I love the one hand, side-folding design. Just grab the handle on the seat and lift. This model also has a clip that holds it shut; a really a nice feature when getting it in and out of the car. It also remains standing after you fold it, unlike the back-to-front folding designs.Basket: I like that the basket is open all the time instead of a bag that closes. I can toss things in there with one hand. It is a soft piece that slides on over fixed frames on each side. The basket folds flat along with the walker, you do not have to remove it. I have noticed that one corner is starting to wear. I think that happened when I was putting the walker in and out of the car with that side down.Tires: These tires are hard rubber. I like them because sometimes I grab the walker from my chair and drag it towards me. The slickness of the tires allows it to slide towards me even if it's a little sideways. I have not had a problem with the slick tires even in the snow and rain.Seat & Back: The seat and back are very comfortable. I have to sit frequently, so I really appreciate that.Quality: This is a good quality walker. I have another Hugo walker (Elite) that is also really good quality. The Elite also has the larger wheels, but it's the font-to-back folding style. I keep that one at home. I think having the good experience with the Elite made me want to try the Explore over other brands of side-folding walkers.12/23/17 Update: I've been using this walker for 2.5 years now and I still love it. I've replaced the cloth basket and the orange clip that holds it shut when folded. I have had good experiences with Hugo customer service. I still highly recommend this walker.03/31/19 Update: I've been using this walker for 4 years now and I still love it. I still highly recommend this walker. People ask me all the time where I got it. I've had to tighten the hand grip screws a few times over the years, and I've used an allen wrench to tighten the cross-bar connections a couple of times, and tighten the brakes (easy), but it's still very sturdy and safe. Once in a while I look at walkers again to see if there's something new and better, but this one still is the best in my opinion.

Although the design of this differs a bit from the original one I got two years ago, this is the same beloved walker that has kept me on the move despite living with MS. In fact, it was because I had this amazing walker that I was able to walk nearly 3000 miles in the span of 2 years (which is why I needed a new one, lol).For those of you considering a rolling walker, I recommend this highly for various reasons. First, the wheels on this model are larger than those on other walkers, which enables the user to travel over multiple types of terrain, while remaining stable and upright.Second, the seat and the backrest on this model are flexible, which means that neither will cause undue discomfort when the walker is used as a seat; yet, both provide outstanding support for the user. Third, the ergonomic handles and brakes provide stability to the user while also ensuring that even those with weak grips are able to remain safe through use of this mobility device.Finally, and this really is the ingenuity of this model of rolling walker, is the amazing way in which the walker folds and remains able to stand on its own. I never fail to get inquiries about my walker when I'm out, and it's great to see that although redesigned, this model is still available here on Amazon.If you're wavering, don't hesitate. It's lightweight yet functional, easy to assemble and use, and did I mention it's super cute? I resisted use of a walker for years, but now I enjoy being a sporty woman on the go, and this walker enables me to do it safely and with style.

I've been looking at this rollator for 5 years and finally bought it as my old walker was dying. The build quality is superb and it rolls like a dream on excellent wheels. The brakes are killer, the paint, perfect. I love it but my joy was ruined when I discovered their cheaper line back-strap and not the big full-sized one that was advertised. It was missing one of the strap fastening blots and the included wrench and hex key didn't even come close to fitting. I think someone at the factory swapped them out (for personal gain) and stuck me with the cheaper stuff (it was even loose in the bottom of the big box the rollator came in...strange). To send it back was too much of a hassle (I am after-all, disabled) so I went to the Hugo site to price my missing parts (a big reason I bought it because you can't get replacement parts for 95% of the rollators out there) and they want $25 for the two nuts and two bolts (the minimum you can buy, screw that, I'll spend a couple dollars at the hardware store and source my own), but the original wide back-strap will set me back another $40, that's why I'm pissed-off and only gave it 3 stars instead of the 5 that it really deserves. All it takes is one wayward employee to ruin your reputation...just sayin'.

My first walker was lightweight and folded verycompactly but broke and could not be repaired. The shop would not let me leave without purchasing another. The 2d was lightweight and had a very comfortable padded seat and backrest, but did not fold well at all. I chose this one because it does fold compactly; however, it s a bit cumbersome to get it into and out of the car. Also the basket tends to fall off and can be hard to get back in place. However the fact that it does fold very compactly outweighs these minor inconveniences.
