Best Crocheting Tools in the USA !
Perfection to use when crocheting. Steel material with fitted smooth edge grip. Sizes of crochet hook prominently displayed. Color-coded for size as well. (I worked for Boye Needle Co. in Chicago as an advisor to the VP of marketing in the mid-1970’s. We ladies of all levels personally tested them for their performance and use.) That’s why I purchased my new set. My first set disappeared when I moved from my former home.

Nice hooks for a beginner
I didn't buy these hooks thinking they'd be amazing, comfortable, and easy on the hands. They're metal and fairly small - smaller than a pencil. If I use these for too long, my hand does start to cramp up a bit, but I'm also a newbie and haven't developed as much endurance in my hands for the repetitive motions. That being said, these hooks are very useful if you're just starting out! You get basically every hook you could need to trying out doily patterns, and almost every hook you could need when working with medium weight yarns. Beyond this set, I've just purchased six hooks for working with bulky and super bulky yarns, and I feel pretty confident that I have every hook that I'll want for any project that I find. These hooks are accessibly priced for entering into the hobby, and once you've used these for a while you should have an idea of if you enjoy crochet enough to invest in more comfortable hooks (plus, you'll have a good idea of which hooks you use most often, and the way you hold your hook while working, which can be very important to choosing more ergonomic hook styles). My mother has had a set of these hooks since sometime in the late 70's or early 80's, and she still uses them exclusively. Her case is the grey-blue shown, but I've now purchased two sets (one for me and a friend) and gotten a maroon case and a Pepto pink case. It seems like a luck of the draw based on the seller. So, TL;DR, these are great inexpensive hooks to get anyone started in crochet. A lot of people buy this set and never bother to upgrade, while others will later choose to purchase more ergonomic hooks. Either way, these are great for getting into crochet to learn if you like the hobby before shelling out a bunch of money on other hook styles.

Perfect Entry Level Package
I am new to crochet and have no idea what size hooks are most often used or which hook I might need for 'that ' yarn I saw in the thrift store, the one that lost its label many moons ago. This cute pink package has everything I need. Each time an instructional video tells me to select a specific hook I have it right there ready and my project is completed without a trip to the store buying yet another size hook. There are 24 hooks in total, size from 0.75. up to the largest 6.5mm each with its own secure place. The little pink padded wallet holds them all in order of size and whilst you can only see one side of the wallet with the larger of the hooks in the product image, there is a second side, equally full of silver colored smaller sized hooks. The wallet zips together securely keeping them all in one convenient place. If you are an old hand getting back into crochet you will probably want to choose the sizes you know you will use but for a beginner or someone who wants to try a little of everything from cotton lace to big funky flower cushions it is ideal.

Great deal for the price
I’ve always been a huge fan of Boye due to the shape of the hook, so I was really excited to find this set! The quality isn’t the same since they moved their manufacturing to China (lighter weight, more defects such as the hook being offset from the flat part of the handle, etc.), but you really can’t go wrong with this set for the price. The case isn’t super high quality, but it is nicer than I had expected, and I suspect that when the slots for the hooks eventually start to fall apart, I’ll just repair/replace that part and keep using it. Overall, it’s not a spectacular product, but it’s a great deal and I’m really happy with it!Update 12/3/21:The case has actually held up perfectly so far! The hooks are less impressive - the size 11/1.10mm got snagged and I pulled, thinking the yarn would tear (lace-weight wool), but the hook broke off instead. I also use size E/4-3.50mm for the majority of my projects, and the colored finish has worn off and the hook has warped after just a few months of use (see photos). I still maintain that it’s a good deal for the price, but if you’re looking for high quality hooks, this is probably not the set for you.

This is a great set of hooks.
I was hesitant to use these needles. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and when I first started knitting, I had aluminum needles and they were so slippery, they made my hands hurt to try and hold on to the needles, so I switched to wooden needles and they work great. When I wanted to learn to crochet, I read great reviews about these needles and opted to give them a try, even though I haven't had the greatest experience with aluminum. These work great! They are very comfortable to hold and they don't slip and slide everywhere like I expected them to. They hold yarn well and allow for easy transition of stitches. I'm new to crocheting so I don't know if this is standard, but I wish the hook was a little bit deeper but I think learning how to grab yarn properly will come with time. All in all, this is a great set. I love having all the sizes I need without needing to buy individual needles, it saves money and time. The case is great, keeping everything in one place is wonderful, I don't have to worry about losing or misplacing a needle. Not to mention they are colorful and pretty. This was a great investment.
