A definite improvement vs battery
The static king worked fine with just the battery, but this adapter is a definite improvement. I usually suffer from buyers remorse, but this purchase isn’t one of them.

Best power supply for Woodland Scenic's "Static King"
I tried the 9 volt battery with the "Static King" with very poor results! There just was not enough amps from the battery to create static for the static grass to stand up. This 12 volt power supply works fantastic and makes the grass upright, including the long 12 MM grass. Its well worth the extra hassle of the power cord.
