Do the wheels turn with the handle?

Yes, the front wheels turn with the handle.. There are several carts out there. The cheap one from Costco doesn't hold up. We use these for agility and dog shows. They get a workout. They handle the weight well and manover well when loaded with 100+ pounds.

In the supplied picture the handle appears to be rather short ... is it a telescoping handle? And if so how long does it get?

How does this handle on the beach?

I don't know as I have never used it at the beach. With that said, this is a great little wagon. The wheels are large and so sturdy. I would think it would handle the sand. Everything they say about it is true. Oh, and it is large and the sides are high. Hope this helps.
