So, I originally ordered 2 of these. When they arrived, one worked great, but the other one was leaking all of its coolant fluid out of it. The box was all torn up and there was a spot where the outer plastic cover of the unit was crushed or punctured. The replacement came and was also leaking all of its coolant out... actually it was in worse condition. Finally, the replacement for the replacement came and it was in perfect condition; no leaks, no scratches, no issues. Finally! The pictures are of the first one that arrived leaking coolant.So now that I have the two, the timing is pretty perfect. It's early spring, so some days have been in the mid 80's and some days have been in the 30's. That's just how Texas weather is. I can say that both the cooling and heating is awesome on these things.What took me back was how quiet these things were. Some other reviews said they are loud. Compared to what, I don't know, but mine are super quiet. I wasn't expecting this since this is, essentially, an electric furnace and a/c in a plastic container. My only guess about the noise is that they're comparing the noise it makes to... silence, I guess, or (a common issue with any air conditioner) is that they plugged it up and powered it on soon after getting it. When it comes to anything with a compressor pump that moves coolant (or any liquid, for that matter), you have to let it sit upright for hours before ever powering it on. The compressor is not made to move air, so if the liquids haven't settled properly before operating, you're going to quickly damage your compressor. It might still "work", but it might loud or it may never heat or cool to its full capacity. Same goes for refrigerators.The heat capacity of this was impressive. It takes a moment to warm up, so when it does come on, the compressor might kick on first, then the fan will kick in on low. After a while of running it'll be much warmer than when it starts. So far, the coolest night for me was 34 degrees and I actually had to turn them down from 72 to 68 because it quickly got hot in here. While the heat coming out may not be as hot as the heat from a gas furnace or electric space heater, it moves far more air in general. The heat coming out won't be hot enough to set something on fire like a space heater, but the massive amount of air it moves quickly made me see why it didn't need to be any hotter. The heat these provide are more impressive when I realized they use less than 1000 watts each when they are on heat. Most much smaller and less capable space heaters use at least 1500 watts.This thing does have a setting to use to dry out or evaporate the water it has accumulated. If you don't use the included drain hose and leave the drain plugged, it will evaporate this water off when it fills up. If you use it, what's interesting is that the drain is pressured; it comes out with a bit of force, enough to blow bubbles when submerged. It won't splatter water everywhere, but what's good about this is that it means it won't get clogged up like the drain on most air conditioners.I have been working from home for years and years, long before covid, so I know how important it is to have a quiet room to work in as background noise can not only be distracting, but can get you fired. This thing sits less than 6 feet away and can't be detected on my mic. Again, a working unit shouldn't be loud. It says to let it stand upright for at least 2 hours before turning on. I let them stand for at least twice that time, 4 hours. This might be the reason my units are quiet because once that compressor pushes air, it will never run quietly again if it keeps working.As far as the remote, you don't have to point it right at it for it to work.This, like all portable air conditioners, will create a bit of a vacuum which will pull air into any cracks in your walls, windows, floors, etc. No matter how well your home was built, it will pull that air in from somewhere... kitchen vents, dryer vents, bathroom air vents, etc. This happens because the air that the unit uses to cool the rear radiator, which vents outside, is pulled from the back and sides of the unit. It also pulls the air that it is going to heat or cool through the same area. So only some of the air is coming back out into your home (the air that is heated or cooled), but about half of all the air coming in is pushed out of the back of the air conditioner out of the vent that goes through the window. I'm used to using portable air conditioners, so I tend to build a box around them and put an extra vent near the back and pipe it outside, about half the size of the one going out. That tends to stop the issue and give me far greater BTU value than it is rated at. Otherwise, I just leave a window cracked somewhere near the unit as I am used to having to do this with wood stoves anyhow.

Amazing!! Well worth the price! It blows cold …. And blows heat! I love it and will be perfect for my camper as well as having a back up when hurricanes roll thru and we lose electricity. We can just plug it in to generator and it will keep us comfortable in whichever room we decide to roll it around to.

If I could give 4.5 stars I would!! This was very easy to set up, works wonderfully and quickly, and is very well made. The only thing I can say I’d change is the noise level. Other than that, I’m extremely satisfied and even with the noise I’d purchase again! I put it in my bedroom which gets hotter than the rest of the house and it has worked wonders!!

BEST THING EVER!!!! MY HUSBAND WORKS NIGHTS SO HE NEEDS OUR BEDROOM DARK AND COLD ESP IN THE SUMMER. THIS THING IS AMAZING!!!!! KEEPS IT COLD!!!!! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BUCKET TO HELP DRAIN THE WATER THOUGH. IT WILL STOP RUNNING IF ITS FULL OF WATER...SO TO MAKE IT EASIER WE ATTACHED THE HOSE TO IT AND RAN IT INTO A BUCKET.

I'm sitting here with yemps in the 80s, with expected high of 88. I had the AC on 65. It was too cold. I was freezing!🥶 So I had to change it over to fan (75) and it'd still comfortable. I love this portable HVAC. I've also used the heat setting when the days were still coil. Listen, THIS UNIT IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!!Other reviewers have given thorough, positive reviews of this unit which are correct. I will be purchasing another for a different part of the house. This unit is a winner. Buy it!

This is a review for SereneLife SLPAC14 Portable Air Conditioner (14,000 BTU). I had a great AC that died recently. So, I did some research to find the ideal AC, however I had the hardest time choosing one due to lack of information on the AC’s listing pages and lack of honest opinions. So, I’m writing this review to help you make the right decision, or rather to save you from making the same mistake I made.In short, this AC is not good. Stay away. Don’t buy.To elaborate more:- Manual is in broken English. Some instructions are hard to understand.- The AC is heavier and larger than an average portable AC. Plus, you need around 20 inches of space around it, and the hose needs to be 35 inches up and away from the floor. Small room? Low window? No good.- Manual states “When the temperature is higher than 40c/104-f, it’s not recommended to use this unit.” Go ahead, buy this AC, but don’t use it when it’s hot outside. Shouldn’t this be in the product description? Shouldn’t one know BEFORE buying?- Wheels are useless. Needs A LOT of effort to move the AC if you have carpets on your floors. Therefore, it’s not truly portable. You can’t easily move it from window to window, and you might need help to get it to the window you want to install it in. Can’t comment on wooden or tile floors.- Manual states “If the machine is shut down in the cooling operation state, it needs to wait for three minutes before it can be turned on automatically”. And that is exactly what it’s been doing. You set it to cool and pick a temperature. When it reaches the set temperature, it turns totally and completely OFF. Three minutes later, it turns on again, then off. Without switching to fan mood in between. Why is this a problem? Well, you know when you first turn on white noise? You notice it at first, then it blends into the background. It drowns out all other annoying noises and helps you sleep, work, study, etc. Even when it’s loud, you don’t notice it until you shut it off. That’s what this AC does. It turns on with a LOUD white noise, then it turns COMPLETELY off. Doesn’t switch to fan mood. Then, a few minutes later, it turns on again. So you are constantly listing to the sound of white noise turning on and off, repeatedly. It gave me a terrible headache within the hour. It wakes me up every single time it turns off, or on. No restful sleep what so ever. I woke up exhausted and grumpy. If you want peaceful, restful sleep, this AC is not for you.- Control Panel: It sings TELALA in a loud, high-pitched voice, announcing itself to my entire building every time I press any button (panel or remote). How do you feel about your AC shouting at you every time you touch its buttons? If someone is sleeping, and you attempt to adjust the settings on this AC, you’ll wake them up.- Remote: Doesn’t sync with the panel on the AC. If you use the panel to turn on the AC and adjust the settings, then you grab the remote to change something. The settings on the panel will suddenly revert to the last settings you choose the last time you used the remote. All the settings you picked on the panel are now changed. Basically, you’ll need to stick to either the remote or the panel at all times and don’t touch the other. Although, if you want to use the temperature in celsius, your only option is the remote.- Window Kit and Hose: The hose is paper thin. So thin it wrinkles and lets in heaps of heat and sunlight. Window kit is just as bad. Thin plastic. Warps when you close the window, leaves tons of gaps, and doesn’t even fit a standard 35”-36" window. You’ll need to shed an extra $50 for a new kit.- Filter: A cheap thin layer of mesh. Never seen AC filter this cheap. Already showing signs of wear and tear and it’s brand new.- Drain Outlet: There is only ONE drain outlet. Positioned at the very bottom of the AC. It’s so low, it’s touching my carpet. No space, not even for the thinnest pan or tray. If there was a second outlet, you could easily open the bottom outlet (water won’t flow yet), hookup a drain hose, then open the top drain outlet, and THAT will cause the water to flow from the bottom drain. But with just ONE outlet, you need a yard, balcony, or other suitable place that allows for draining without a tray or hose. Many people don’t have such options. Also, when the AC tank is full of water, according to the manual, it’ll start beeping. Who’s in for a midnight awakening during a heat wave because the AC is throwing a fit?- Cooling Power: Even though I got the 14,000 BTU, and the temperature outside is only 22-c/72-f, and the room the AC is in is about 350 sq, I’m sweating! Most likely because the AC is not switching to fan mood. It just keeps shutting down every few minutes. Leaving me feeling suffocated with no flowing air or white noise to save me from my noisy neighbours like my previous AC did!Conclusion: The heat is sneaking upon us here in south California. It’s hard to believe how unlucky I got with this AC. Trapped in this terrible situation. Unable to afford another AC, and have no physical strength, transportation, or help to return it. I just want to cry. So upset. Sad beyond words. Do yourself a favor and look into other ACs from other companies. With that, I end my review and hope that it helped you in your search. *It cool a small room.*This is good replacement or use instead of using an old centralized AC that eat a lot of wattage that consume a lot of money 🤑 💰* I put aluminum foil on the hose to let not heat escape that goes to the room. There is aluminum foil tape insulation that you can use.
