You may have to put THIS lion into a glass cage, 'cause he's TOO SENSITIVE!
THE FACTS: I ordered this hip hop lion pendant necklace from BLINGFORFUN (Necklace sold by Shivam) on Nov. 13, and I received it on Nov. 18! I paid $26.94 for it ($21.95 + $4.99 S&H). This necklace is a Class A Collection necklace. The actual necklace is more of an orange color than it appears to be in Amazon's photo.THE STORY: I somehow gravitate towards mostly gold hip hop jewelry, and even though I already own a Nicki Minaj door-knocker lion pendant from a local department store, I wanted a cool lion head pendant, and this LOOKED to be cool, and adorable, too, when I saw it on its Amazon page! I just KNEW that I HAD to have this particular lion necklace! It's too bad that I am NOW woefully disappointed with it, because it showed such promise.THE GOOD: I love the heavy, 4-sided FREE wheat (?) chain that comes with the necklace; it's attractive! The pendant's bale, through which the chain fits, connects to itself at the top with a seam; the front of the bale features ONE tiny center rhinestone, which is kind of cool. I'm about 5 feet tall, and the pendant falls to the bottom of my belly button; I'm glad that the pendant is NOT too short OR too long. The back of this pendant is slightly indented, and the lion portion of the pendant is REALLY indented, but I don't mind that. I like the lion's face, even if it seems to be more average, and a little less CUTE than the face of the lion in Amazon's photo. The Greek key design that flanks both sides of the lion's face is cool, too, and the necklace DOES shine some.THE BAD: Okay, let's start with the bale! The top of it doesn't really look super, what with that seam, AND there's a permanent (?) brown stain right next to that seam. There are factory dents and scratches on the lion's mane, and there's even a scratch across his face, AND some factory flaws on some of the Greek keys! ACK! The pendant isn't nearly as shiny as it looks to be in Amazon's picture.THE UGLY: I was SO pleased when I FIRST took the necklace out of its plastic sleeve that I carried it over to the computer...with the other two necklaces that I'd bought, and it was only THEN that I noticed all of those dratted factory flaws! I wondered if I'D accidentally caused some of them, what with the fact that I'd brought all of the necklaces over at once, so I did a rather stupid thing (I purposely ran the other necklaces across the lion pendant, just to see if they had INDEED caused those other scratches), and I discovered that this blasted lion pendant scratches SOOO EASILY! "My" scratches aren't super noticeable, although they DO show up a little, and yet, I think that MOST of the flaws that are on this necklace ARE FACTORY flaws! That is SOOO disappointing, AS is the fact that the pendant becomes scratched so easily.IN CONCLUSION: I'm recommending this pendant to women who don't mind factory flaws, and who don't mind wearing a necklace that can become scratched easily. If you buy this necklace, don't run sharp fingernails over it, or let it swing out against anything that might damage it, or snuggle up next to that boyfriend who loves to wear those big metal belt buckles! If you DO any of those things, and you still think that you're gonna look like one styling' hip hop chick, you're WRONG; you'll look MORE like you've been involved in a good, old-fashioned rumble with the tough girls on the street! If I DIDN'T think that I'd get just as bad of a necklace the second time around, AND if I hadn't scratched this necklace myself, I'd send the darned necklace back in exchange for a replacement! I am most disappointed, as I was ALSO looking at the silver-tone version of this lion! Oooh, poor lion of mine! You COULD have been so CUTE, AND so DURABLE...for $26.94!
