Good for Drain Hole
We used this to create a drain hole in our Pelican Bass Raider 10E. We cut off some of the 'tail' because we didn't need it that long. It is a solid piece, cinches up nice and tight. We use silicone seal to seal and to hold nut from loosening. A standard 1" drain plug works well to open and close the drain hole.

Excellent for canopy tarp drain for rain
I'm using these as rainfall drains for the roof of a canopy tarp and they work near-perfectly. The only caveat is the diameter of the barbed tube, which is not grabbing my vinyl hose very tight. I can't tell if it is the barbed tube or the hose that is the culprit.
