The Muscle Book

Indispensable if you want to understand muscles
This book is indispensable if you're learning the connection about the muscles and how they work together with other, related muscles. The book also explains how to fix muscle-related problems. As an aspiring contortionist - this book is an absolute necessity. Highly recommended. One wish to the editor for a next version of this book - if feasible, please include colorful pictures. This is not a necessity - just a nice-to-have feature.

Good quick reference
I have been a massage therapist for over 13 years. This is a great book to use as a visual aid when speaking to clients about what is going on in their bodies. It is simple, direct and useful. It does not get caught up in medical jargon but is right to the point!

Good non technical intro to muscle groups.
A very good non technical read for an introduction to muscle groups. I like the fact that it mentions typical problems that will occur in the given muscle group.

Good reference, wish it had a bit more detail.
Great reference to a brief synopsis of the muscular anatomy and the general weaknesses of each muscle. Wish it had a bit more detail on the tendons and smaller muscles, but otherwise this book is exactly what I was looking for. Provides a brief overview of the muscular system, how to be careful in using each muscle as to prevent damaging it. Perfect reference guide for the average gym rat wanting to get a better understanding of the muscles being used (personally, for powerlifting movements). Not sure how useful this text would be for anyone who delves deeper into the subject of anatomy, though.

well-drawn and intuitive. The mucles as seen by a doctor, and a respected yoga teacher. Has spiral binding so it can lay flat on the table.

A good AMIT Bible for beginners
If you have heard of AMIT or Kinesiology and are interested in finding points of muscle origin and insertion so you can learn to turn muscles back on by yourself....You will LOVE this book. It also gives you the "action" of the muscle which is very helpful in testing strength. It is limited in it's coverage and only gives some of the main muscles. Worth the money for sure.

Not very detailed
I expected a more detailed description of the muscles. It was more casual.

Extremely basic booklet, not a book, not suitable for A&P students
I would disagree with the review which stated“This would be great for any student of anatomy and physiology.“ since the booklet has more of an alternative medicine bent. Possibly useful for yoga or energy work students, but not in an A&P student’s context. It also does not explain the connections it makes in its “Finger First Aid” sections (see photos): why for example would putting specific pressure on either side of the sternum or T5-7 provide relief to the deltoid muscle? It makes some odd suggestions that need more support.Returning the book for a refund is pointless after deducting shipping. And they offer an exchange for some other totally irrelevant products. Ultimately I have chosen to keep it for only those reasons.
