Q: So this is for a single side or both sides?

It depends. In installed 2 on each side so I bought two of them. Install is very easy. U don’t need to drill any new holes to attach it, just use existing whole for bumper holder. Then still appropriate size whole in pumper for release button.

Q: What are the springs and special washers for. They are in a bag together.

Q: Are these strong enough to hold you hood without using the oem latch?

I used mine to hold on front nose. I wouldnt trust them to hold a hood down tho. Aero latch is better suited for this application. Hope this helps

Q: Will it work for 1985 c10 hood

They might work but are kinda small for a hood pin. 1/4 stud with ball on end that button clicks onto to complete assembly. Easy to install but not what would be best for your application. Check aero latches out.
