Happy with this - so far
I used the glue as I didn't want to drill into the tiles myself (my previous rail only needed one hole for each bracket, this needs two) - it's been up for about 5 weeks and so far so good, seems to have stuck well. (I'll update my review if it falls off the wall though!)Yes it is a bit lighter than my previous shower riser rail but I can't see why it needs to be heavy, plus the lighter it is the less chance it will fall down! It looks good and the shower head holder holds the shower head nicely but not too tightly that you end up pulling the rail each time you take it off.Another plus are the instructions - clear enough and easy to follow even for a 59 year old woman like me.All in all very happy with this - as long as the glue holds up!

Ok, but get your own fixings
Looking good but very lightweight, it's sturdy enough to hold up to 5KG (according to the package). Get your own wall plugs, the ones provided with the rail are of a very low quality and if I didn't have my own to use I wouldn't have been able to fix it to the wall (tiles on plasterboard).Other than that it's easy to put on and the way it's made make it easy to replace an existing rail without having to drill new holes, which is a plus. Durability? Time will tell.

Easy to install and works with existing installation screw holes.
The rail can be screwed in place or glued to the wall. Glue, screws, fixing plates and rawl plugs supplied. The fixing plates for the brackets have a cross shaped hole approx 3cm apart so can be used with existing screw holes.Plenty of length to play with, as previous rail brackets were 66cm apart and there was still plenty of space on both ends of the pole. It's lightweight but once fixed in place it felt quite sturdy and the shower head easily fitted in and stayed in place while in use.So far seems a good purchase.

Great for the price
Lots of reviews are written directly after something is purchased new and installed. I bought this Croydex shower rail a year ago; June 2019 and it's still great. We shortened the rail, as there was no need for it to be that long. It's easy to do - just remove the chrome cap at the end, cut off carefully and replace the cap. It's more stylish than most and has the design we were looking for.The rail and bracket have stood the test of time and if the bracket works it's way a bit loose, just tighten the hidden screw and it's fine again. We've only had to do this once in 13 months.Very happy with my purchase.

Not so Cheap but Nasty
As a highly respected UK manufacture of quality products I am totally perplexed that Croydex have marketed this with their name on it. I have previously paid £35 + for a single items of bathroom furniture (robe hooks, soap dishes and towel hoops etc) from Croydex, but all were made from solid brass with high quality chrome plating that has stood the test of time and hasn’t rusted so well worth the money in the long term. This item is a totally different animal. In short; advertised as ‘Chrome’ which is indicative of metal, but the bulk of product with the exception of the rail itself is plastic and flimsy at that.Unpackaged and sent straight back for a refund with the above explanation.

Very good
Very good and ideal replacement for my old unit. I didn't even have to drill new holes as the fitting allows for movement.

Saves drilling new holes when replacing an existing riser rail
This was the only riser rail that I could find that was easily adjusted to fit existing screw holes as a replacement rail and thus avoids having to fill the old holes and drill new ones. I was worried about some poor reviews but needn't have been. Those that say the pole slides down the brackets simple haven't read the instructions when putting it together. The pole needs to slide down the brackets for installation and then a retaining screw tightened to hold in place. Another review mentioned that it was too small to hold a standard shower head but I suspect they had only tried it with the bracket upside down. The bracket is tapered so the gap is smaller at the bottom than it is at the top. As long as it is the right way around I found it did fit a normal sized hose and shower head.

Exactly what I was looking for.
I was looking for a longer riser rail for some time. I am finally able to have the shower at a lower height as I am quite petite. Great for the grandchildren too. As I have no bathtub, we can lower the showerhead so they can shower comfortably. I am no DIY expert, but managed to install this and it was great that I didn't have to drill the tiles. Seems sturdy.
