Braun51S Series 5 Electric Shaver Replacement Foil & Cassette Cartridge, Silver

Package and item arrived as promised

Replaced the foil head for my Series 5 565cc-4 model. Love this shaver. Wanted to help people out without reading a ton of reviews looking for their model for combability with this 51S replacement foil head. The first picture was the item I received and it had this message stapled on the back of the package as I'm assuming there's a lot of returns. My 565cc model is not listed. I want to let anyone who owns this model that this replacement works on the 565cc model, works very well! The second picture is from the Braun website showing ALL THE MODELS that are compatible with the 51S replacement. Hope this helps!!

It is nice to deal with a manufacturer who will stock equipment for a product sold long ago. When I feel whiskers being tugged instead of clipped, I know it's time to replaced the shaver head.

I bought this item and then had to return it as it did not fit my Braun Series 5 shaver. The description of this item doesn't give you enough detail - Braun had 2 different shaving heads for the Series 5. These are designated 51S and 52S (I suspect the "S" stands for silver color). After some internet research, I discovered that the 51S has the cutter mechanism and foil housing as 2 separate pieces, whereas the 52S has both pieces together - cannot be separated. My shaver uses the latter, so I returned the 51S and ordered a 52S.Because this differentiation in the Series 5 shavers was not spelled-out in the product description, I took off one star.

This is my second purchase of this exact product in the last 10 years. Not much to say that these blades work as advertised. They will bring your old electric shave back to life. Very easy to install and depending on how much use you put on these blades, they will last quite tong. As long as my electric shaver keeps working, I will continue purchasing these blade replacements. Highly recommend.

I usually go to the local Big-Box store to get my replacement foil and blade. I thought I would give Amazon a try since it was about 10 bucks cheaper. This product is identical in every way! Fits perfect and was actually quieter after changing it. I don't remember noticing that when I changed blades before. The only knock at all was the packaging is so heavy that you need to use a box cutter to get it out. I don't think they are trying to escape during shipping. I have had my shaver for over 10 years and can't come up with an excuse to replace it. I lived in Norway for a while and called Braun to ask if the power difference would hurt it. The answer was no. They are made for world-wide usage and the plug (very large) adjusts the power for protection. That was 8 years ago and it is still going so I see they were correct. I only mentioned this since I have burned out other things like phones, Palm Pilots and CD players overseas.

I’ve purchased this many times, almost yearly. When my morning shave seems to be taking too long, then I realize my blades are dull. A quick shipment from Amazon and I’m back to a 2 minute shave. These are very easy to install and renew my decade old shaver to new operating condition. Very pleased.

Last time I bought a new head for my old Series 5 razer, I was delighted that the shave quality returned to being terrific. I think the razer motor, etc., finally just got tired enough that a new razer head wasn't doing the job. It was still having to run the razer across my face too many times to get rid of the stubble. I upgraded to a new Series 9, and am very happy with it.But the one-star rating is because some geniuses at Braun decided to do us owners of the Series 5 a favor by redesigning the middle part of the razer head that is supposed to catch longer hairs that don't get cut by the mesh portion. Unfortunately (or, in a way, maybe fortunately?) to do this the middle part sticks up higher than the mesh parts, with very sharp edges. I ended up bleeding in two places on my face. If I wanted to bleed while shaving, I'd be using blades instead of an electric razer. So, in a way, this bad product made me re-think the whole situation and realize it was time to upgrade from a Series 5 to a Series 9. Even so, having Braun sell me a product that sliced my face gets it only one star.
