Have had this bin for over a month and has worked perfectly, none of the issues highlighted in other reviews. The lid won’t open fully if you obstruct it as a safety feature, which may be causing some people issues. There is a countdown timer until it closes - if you trigger the sensor this resets to give you more time, or you can press the open button to keep it open until you press close. Comes with a 5 year warranty, so anyone having issues have that protection.

I really like this bin & it looks lovely at the end of my kitchen island.However, it is very expensive for a bin and I've had the following issues;As mentioned in many other reviews, it takes a lot of batteries. Cheap batteries won't work for longer than a few hours - I use rechargeable ones though without any problem so not a massive inconvenience.It's slightly too short to fit flush against the worktop on my kitchen island and as the worktop over hangs I need to place the bin approx 5 inches away from the island to enable the lid to open.The body of the bin is quite thin and therefore easily dented (especially on the curve). Our German shepherd has a very waggly tail which has put several dents on the curved area of the bin.The retaining ring for the food caddy sits quite deep inside the caddy, so whilst it does the job of keeping the bag in place you need to get your hands dirty to remove it from the bin before replacing the bag (or not use it at all). A retaining ring that sits neatly at the top would be far more practical!The sensor is very sensitive and walking past the bin usually results in the lid flying open (hence lots of batteries!).Having said that, I still love the bin for it's looks and the ability to sort recycling and would probably purchase it again even with the points mentioned above.

I was suspect about the price but this is hands down the best bin we have bought. We had initial reservations as the lid stopped working after a few days - turns out we were using ‘used’ batteries. Have had a brand new set in for 4 months and it has worked perfectly. Very easy to keep clean and it looks the part in the kitchen. I love the separate compartments. This really was a worthwhile purchase.

I purchased this to have an all in one solution for waste in my kitchen and can only say that I am completely disappointed with this product. I have had a different sensor bin before and it was fantastic and thought this would be the next step up, how wrong I was.The sensor function was ‘patchy’ at best and then the manual open/close buttons started to fail to use. The bin is now totally useless for the automatic functions it advertises.This is less than one month old and to ensure that it was not the batteries I changed these. Still the lid fails to function correctly (if at all).If you are looking for a sensor bin I would avoid this one at all cost.Utterly disappointed in an expensive product which is unreliable and useless.

Bins have come a long way since the plastic swing bin, which always wafted revolting smells as the lid swung, yes this works well, good size compartments, easy to clean, any wet tea bags food etc in the box with a lid, so no smells when you open the bin, flatten any cardboard and there's enough room, easy enough to take the separate compartments to the bin at the end of the day. Batteries last well, ours have been in a few months and still going, I'm going to use re chargeable batteries as they will last twice as long as ordinary one's. digital count down for lid closing, there is an on/ off switch you can use other closing methods not just the battery. 3 stars for the price, £129.99 really!! it's a bin,I'll just have to get over it. But built well, works well and extremely useful.

This bin us the answer to all my kitchen waste needs. Bottom bin can be divided into two sections for mixed recycling or alternatively used as one single recycling bin. The drawer slides in and out easily. The top compartment is deep and a good capacity and it is shared by the very useful caddy bin with lid. A good design with multifunctional compartments. The bin is large and tall and most importantly the motion sensitive lid which opens with a wave of hand is fantastic and prevents touching the bin. I love this bin. Well worth the money.

Da arrivato aveva già il problema che l'apertura automatica sembrava troppo debole (chissà la mia unità aveva già difetti) dovevo cambiare le batterie troppo spesso. Ho acquistata invece una concorrente con lo stesso design che funziona perfettamente e le batteria durano mesi e l'apertura automatica e fulminea.
