Why did you pick this product vs others?:Got it in a matter of hours. Haven’t actually used it to weld with, but tested it with a super high powered flashlight. Worked great. The knobs are easy to adjust while wearing it. The only thing I didn’t like was the protective film over the outside glass was tucked up under the mask itself. It wouldn’t peel off clean. I had to use a razor blade to carefully get the edges of the film off. Made me a bit nervous about scratching the glass.

This is my wife’s favorite hood. It has a huge viewing area compared to my Viking 3350. It’s simple to use and you can get lenses for a fair price right here on Amazon. It has great neck and ear coverage so no flash burn it’s a lot lighter than my Lincoln and it has the same darkening speed and clarity with the blue light filter in comparison to the green filter most hoods of this price range have.

When set to "grind", it still dims. Best way around this is turning the sensitivity to low and the shade to low..

First let me say I don't weld for a profession, if I did, this would not be the helmet I would use. I'm just a guy that's been welding out of necessity for 30 yrs, with that being said, this is my 1st true color lid. It's so much better than the green/grey scale. There are lots of adjustments for sensitivity and shade darkness and they work pretty well.It also comes with a extra battery and protective lenses which is a bonus.Unfortunately after about 2 hrs of use the tightening ratchet on the back of the helmet quit holding the position and basically stripped out.No big deal, get a hold of the manufacturer's customer service and then let Amazon know what's going on.......I'm starting to get pissed off because for almost 2 weeks, it's been radio silence.I sure hope someone reads this and contacts me soon. I will change my rating if someone from Amazon and or Arccaptain actually responds and makes this right.Update - both Amazon and Arccaptain contacted me and made everything right.Change5v y

Bought this to replace an auto-darkening helmet I bought a few years back. After using it for a week or so doing hobby welding, mostly TIG, some MIG, I'll give it an enthusiastic thumbs-up. The settings are easy to use, it comes with a few spare items, and it has a replaceable battery. It also has provision for cheater lenses, which is nice. I hate trying to wear reading glasses under a helmet. Light-weight, adjustable fit, and seems to be good quality.I'd buy this again with no qualms.

The helmet works well. Darkens quick and id really like the natural color of the lens.The headgear is a different story, and the reason for 4 stars rather than 5. The headgear is difficult to adjust and I never can get it real comfortable on my head while being able to see well out the hood.Overall a decent buy for the money. Will work ok for my intention of occasional home use. I wouldn't recommend for daily use though.
