Light weight and works Great, not hard to put together
The directions were good for assembly. I took pictures of what was emailed to us, and was able to put it together without much problem. The little piece you pull out, took a minute to figure it out, but once we got it, off we went to enjoy our time on the water. Paddle worked great for my granddaughter. She loved using it.

Paddle Great... Could use a tag with instructions for the adjuster.
This paddle works well, isn't too heavy, and fits. The adjustment mechanism is nice once you figure it out, but at first I wasn't sure exactly how it worked. I was expecting some sort of lever-lock. I ended up scratching up the shaft a bit while figuring it out, and so now I have a permanent reminder. The upside is that this system keeps the grip in the correct orientation with the blade. With lever-lock adjusters you have to be careful to align the grip every time. So, the paddle is great, and if I was going to take a star away it would be for lack of instructions. Since I don't think that is a reflection of the product I will leave it with 5 stars.Note: If you haven't used a paddle with this adjuster before the key is to index one of the holes above the adjuster in the little notch at the top of the lower shaft. If you do this it will align the holes with the pins so that they go in effortlessly when you snap it down.

Broke after 2.5 months
Update: the seller contacted me and offered a full refund. Good customer service.Original review: It was a standard paddle and worked fine until one of the pieces that held the parts together broke after just 2.5 months (of course right outside of the Amazon return window). Not very sturdy.

This Thing Rattles.
Probably the most annoying thing is this thing rattles. The locking part of the paddle has two metal pins that are inserted into drilled holes. The holes are slightly larger than the pins so when you are paddling, you hear this clicking noise with every stroke. Other paddles have a twist and lock clamp that keeps the paddle from moving. This is poor design. To make matters worse, the fact you are drilling holes in a paddle creates a weak point especially when the paddle is extended to it's full length as shown in a previous review. The only reason I am giving it three stars is because it has a fantastic bag that comes with it. Just wished they put as much thought into making paddle as they did the bag. I would love to keep it just for the bag but it's going back.

Needed to modify for users under 5ft tall
Product is nicely made and comes in a nice bag. I bought this because Amazon's descriptions says it "suits a broad range of paddlers (4'6" and up)." The general rule of paddles is it should be as long as the paddler is tall. The Paddle cannot adjust below roughly 5'4" in length. I had to cut two pieces of the 3-piece paddle with a hacksaw to remove nine inches in length and drill another spring-pin hole to allow the paddle to assemble to a 4'-9" length.

Great budget paddle for someone 5β8
Despite all the negative reviews. I use mine on a solo skiff where i stand on my hatch and paddle. Its been sturdy enough for me to use as a push pole until i get a real one. I use mine on the lowest setting though so it may be the most solid way to use this. A lot of peoples seem to bend and warp when its fully extended. It has served me well
