iPhone 8 Case | Pelican Marine Waterproof Case - fits iPhone 8 and iPhone 7 (Clear)

This is a very durable case and is 100% waterproof. I work with a weld shop the screens on this phone keep all the metal dust out of my speakers, mic, and charge port. The only downside is that not all charging cables fit.

Unsatisfied with the purchase this is my second marine case first one was straight from pelican so I can tell there’s a difference and some things I don’t like about this one.

This was an Amazon Warehouse deal & it was worth the extra savings. There was nothing wrong with the product packing or product and it works great. I love it!

Firstly, having been involved in heavy trekking and travelling with sensitive equipment, I can honestly say that Pelican is pretty much second to none, which is probably why I am even more disappointed by this lacking entry into their offering. Right off the bat, this is supposed to be a 'Marine', ie 'water/sea/ocean' based design. As such, it would be pretty much a no brainer to have a lanyard, as seas can sometimes get deeper than you are likely to be able to dive. And there is space for it (I will be drilling my own hole to attach a lanyard). Being that it would most probably be getting wet, the outside would be best in a durable yet 'grippy' rubber to stop it from sliding out of hands or across tilting, or wet, boat decks. The 'face' half is rubbery, but too stiff to grip anything easily, and the other side is hard plastic. As such your best bet is to have it face down for any possible grip, but then, you guessed it, you can't see the screen. The exterior buttons (save the 'ring on/off' button) do work, but require a little more force than you should probably need. The key pad is a little less sensitive, but barely an issue. The front edge sides almost encroach on the main display, so it does make thick fingered persons more prone to missing the intended outer lying left and right hand side keys when sending texts etc. Some reviewers have mentioned that the swing arm cover which is used to seal off the charge port is stiff and flimsy and easily broken. They're not wrong. A soft rubber based, flexible arm (instead of the hard plastic) would have worked here, making it less easily broken. THE REAL ISSUE I HAVE is the ringer on/off button (mentioned earlier). There is no way this went through a decent amount of R&D. Absolutely annoying. Could only get the switch to turn off the ringer and then couldn't get the ringer back on again without taking the case apart. SOLUTION: cut a small piece of rubber band and place it in-between the phone (on the 'on/off switch') and the inside of the case where the exterior button is, and the switch works like a dream. But it shouldn't have come to this. Good solid case and REALLY good O-ring seal and edge holding it sealed and tight. Pelican, you can do better.

Love it .. lost some volume capability, very subtle, but love the protection .

Yes and no. I don’t like how the case covers the speaker & mic which makes it hard for me to hear people talk and for the person on the other side to hear me.

Love it! I've taken it to the pool w/ no leaking issues. It is also 1 year old proof!
