Monster Cable MP HTS 700 Home Theater PowerCenter With Coax , Cable TV, Antena, Satellite, And phone Line Surge Protection (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

A recent terrible storm (Hurricane Sandy) caused several power outages, and in the process killed my Playstation (RIP). I was using a 5 dollar powercord at the time, and promptly decided it was time to protect the rest of my entertainment center.It could have been worse...live and learn! Just don't let it happen to you.I bought this power center when it was on sale, but after using it, I have to admit, I would have bought it at its original MSRP. Before I purchased this surge supressor, my entertainment center would make my lights dim every time I turned on my TV. After I installed it, the flickering stopped!When you invest in a great entertainment center, make sure you protect it!

I have this hooked up to my entertainment system consisting of a plasma tv, PS3, receiver, 2 powered subs and wireless network adapter. I really didn't believe in the whole "Monster clean power" circuitry, but I noticed a small difference in the sound quality coming out of my speaker setup (denon/energy/klipsch). Nothing groundbreaking, but at the price Amazon sells this at it is well worth the pick over a similar surge protector for home theater use.I haven't had a power surge/lightning strike set this off (and hopefully never will), but this seems like a quality surge protector. It also includes a short length of coaxial and phone line for connection to the wall so you don't need to purchase extra cables if you use that feature (nice bonus as I didn't see it advertised). Remember to save your receipt as just about every surge protector requires it if you want to make a warranty claim.

This "Home Theatre PowerCenter" looks impressive and has a suitably long power cord. The literature claims that it will not only protect from surge but also will clean the AC so as to provide better quality electricity for your equipment. This piece of equipment is in use in our bedroom protecting a TV, DVR, powered speakers, and a Pioneer Universal Player.I've used Monster equipment before and have been very pleased; I expect nothing less from this new version.

I'll start this off by saying that as far as I know I haven't had any power surges that would have broken my electronic devices. But I have had power outages and at least two instances of electrical issues and the PowerCenter has so far done a great job. I have quite a few devices plugged in (TV, Xbox, Blu-ray player, soundbar, and cable) and they all work flawlessly using this product. I also love that you can plug your cable and phone line into it for added protection. You have to pay a little more for this one, but when it comes to the expensive equipment I own, I'd rather pay $5-$10 extra in order to get a name-brand product with good reviews like this instead of a cheap generic one. So far, so good. Highly recommended!

I thought, since this is a well-known brand and has a list price of $119.99, that the device would be made of heavy duty, high quality materials. It works fine and seems reasonably designed, but it is quite light, which is good for portability except for the fact that you don't really need to move it around much, and "feels cheap". So I expected it to be made of heavier components. It feels like a $25 surge protector, not a $119.99 surge protector. However, I have not opened it up to see its innards, and they may be quite good...it hasn't failed yet. In the end all that matters is how it deals with a surge. I've used it for my home theater for 6 months so far.

I don't usually write reviews, but, this one is worth sharing. Just setup a new 60" plasma and came across the same problem that I faced about 6 years ago on my 57" LCD Projection TV... Horizontal lines moving up or down when watching HD shows. Tried many things and they all failed previously (switched cable box, switched cables, called a tech, searched online, etc, then gave up). Now faced with the same issue, I had to find a fix. After looking at the reviews, this seemed promising (to clear dirty electricity and improve picture quality. After setup (making sure the cable line was also put through this, the lines disappeared. Tried it for about a month now and picture is as clear as can be! If you search online, many people complain about similar lines and try different things. I would like to post a response to every site, but it's too much hassle signing up for every site. So, hopefully people with similar issues stumble upon this review and try this product. For the price, it's a must for anyone using anything else. 5 stars all the way!!!

This item was faulty and when I attempted to install it my brand new flat screen was completely ruined.My flat screen was working fine but I decided to be a responsible individual and protect my equipment from damage. This item malfunctioned and my flat screen/stereo were damaged. This product came with a guarantee so I thought the matter would be taken care of. I contacted the company, completed a claim, and requested a refund. FYI: When I contacted the company I was notified that this item is discontinued. I had to get an estimate (that I paid for) in order to provide proof that my flat screen was damaged. I also had to pay to ship the item to the company in order to file my claim. I still have not heard anything about the result of my claim. However, rather than issuing me a refund that I requested tMonster sent me a replacement item. I will never use another Monster product. Amazon is not accepting product returns for this particular item. I am highly disappointed with the product but I am even more disappointed with the customer service that I received from this company.

This is ok to use as a surge ptotector but do not use the connectors on the side as they distort the cable signal.

Real easy to set up and does a great job.

Great price for this product. I had trouble connecting the coax cable but that might have been the connectors at my end. Working great now and I feel more secure about the components plugged in to it.
