Perfect kayak for these beginners
I bought two of these Sun Dolphin kayaks. The first one I bought on a lark because it was on sale and I had been thinking about getting a kayak for the cabin. I bought the second one because I loved the first one so much I wanted my husband to have one. We are in our 50s/60s. I have had a bad back since an accident at age 14 and my husband has had both knees replaced. We have no problem getting in and out of these things (took some practice, LOL) and loading them onto the Rav4 is easy because I bought two racks from Amazon as well. We paddle around any one of 10,000 lakes in this area and these things track pretty well, especially once you get used to paddling and sitting with your hips straight and level. My husband is taller and we discovered he needed a longer paddle, btw. I have never used an "expensive" kayak, and they probably are much better for tracking. IDK. But for this beginner, these things are fabulous and everyone in my family loves to use them.

Worth the wait.
Sweet little Kayak. Manuverable and light. I would reccommend getting your own paddles, the one that came with are just ok.Seller contacted me and told me the original Kayak I wanted was damaged. I couldn’t get the color I wanted, but the seller did a great job of providing surface and fixing.Performance wise I think it’s a good buy. It sits in the water really low, and paddles easy. I paddled against a strong current the other day, and she held up just fine. Stick to rivers and streams, and you will have lots of fun.

Great kayak for the money.
My wife and I were looking for an inexpensive way to get into kayaking so we decided on the Sun Dolphins to get us on the water. The kayaks handle the puget sound quite well and track rather well. Some complained about the kayaks going in circles and other strange issues but that is user error. For small light kayaks, light strokes of the paddles will get you where you need to go.The kayaks are light (about 40 lbs) and are easy to carry with the provided front and rear handles. We can carry both kayaks with paddles, pads and gear inside with no problems. These don't have as many of the features of the more expensive kayaks and are pretty spartan in design but if you are looking for a cheap basic kayak you will not be disappointed.

I am very happy with my choice
I also did a lot of research and read many reviews before purchasing this Sun Dolphin Aruba Kayak. I am very happy with my choice. This is my first “real” kayak. I had the inflatable Intex double person last year, which I enjoyed. This one is comfortable, roomy, stable, tracks nice, easy to maneuver and yet lightweight around 40lbs. It has a place for a water bottle in front and a storage/cooler covered compartment in the back. I am very pleased. Scheduled delivery service was also awesome and friendly and took good care of transporting it. Enjoy if you decide on this one! In my opinion it will not disappoint. Mine is pink!

Be AWARE
Yesterday, June 28th 2018, I took my new kayak out on the Ohio River for only the second time. I'm an avid kayaker renting them to always kayak for an adventure and was excited I finally owned one. Approximately 45 minutes in the water, the kayak started filling up with water. I immediately placed my life vest on and for the next half an hour or so pulled the kayak with one hand while swimming to land with other praying someone would come help me. I don't understand why it sank! I transported it on a mat and there was absolutely no way I could have injured it during transport and to the river. I felt nothing hit the kayak during my time on the water and I meet the weight limitations. I'm extremely upset because I have no idea the cause of the damage and now my new kayak is floating at the bottom of the river. I had to hike 4 miles to find help and severely sunburned on top of it. I'm a RN and an avid adventure/nature lover who is disappointed with what transpired. Again, I want to reiterate that this was only the second time this kayak was used! So very disappointed.

Great Recreational Kayak for Weekend Kayakers
I bought this rigid kayak to replace an inflatable one that I used last season. I was a little worried about getting it onto the top of my car, but after a couple of practice attempts it wasn't too difficult. It is super stable (we kayak the TN river) in windy and choppy conditions. It seems to track well and for a recreational kayak it hits all the marks. The seat is is comfortable and at 5'9" I found the leg room to be fine. I'm more likely to try more kayaking spots now with this rigid kayak and I believe that this one will last me for several seasons.

There is damage in the bottom of the bow.
I diiscovered the damage when I took it out of its plastic wrap and turned it over. It was a hole large enough to let water flood into the hull.

Paddle is NOT included
My kayak has just arrived, and we haven't yet tried it out. However, be aware that the title of the product is misleading. The paddle is NOT included, so if that is part of your analysis (price includes paddle), think it over. I imagine that many folks want to select their paddle specifically and separately, so I don't know how many folks will care. However, to me, it is misleading and the site should change this in the title.
