Awesome Hoodie
This is one of the best merino hoodies every made. I am about 5'10", 170 lbs, 42 inch chest with broad shoulders and found that the XL was a little too big. The large fit me perfectly. The hoodie is very soft and comfortable. The zipper works great and the added inside zipper pocket works great for wallets or other things such as passports if your traveling. The hoodie is heavy enough to stand alone in 30 degree weather, as I walked around my neighborhood to get a feel on how low of a temperature I can get away with, with just a tee and the hoodie. You can use this as a light jacket for 50-60 degrees as well. It can also be a great layer for colder weather. Since merino wool is temperature regulating you are cool in warmer weather and warm in cooler weather. And the great thing about merino wool is you can get multi wears from it and it will not smell. I wore this for a week straight with no smell. Minus 33 puts out great products, I have a lot of their stuff from socks to base layers, and I will continue to buy from them. As always I can definitely recommend their products.

Expensive Hoody; Well Worth It For Me
I have 3 sets of the Minus 33 expedition weight tops and bottoms; they are expensive but for me, well worth the comfort and warmth they afford me. I have and will never be in the arctic and probably never in temps below -10 degrees, I wear these under my clothes all winter outdoors to take care of my horses and exercise my dogs. I keep my house at exactly 60 degrees most of the time to keep my energy bill down; since I wear these constantly, I needed 3 sets so that I can wash and wear. I wash them inside out in cold water and usually on regular cycle and hang to dry when I can. They do not shrink on delicate settings in the dryer, except for minimal shrinkage on the colored versions of the tops. OK; this is supposed to be a review of the Minus 33 Full Zip Hoody. I am wearing it as I write this and have absolutely no complaints except that it is a bit too warm for just now, but I wanted to be as fair as I could. The hoody jacket seems to be a bit thicker than the top and bottom sets, but that is a good thing. I ordered a medium and the fit is perfect for me; I am an older woman standing 5`9" and weighing in at 135 pounds. I ordered the medium tall in the expedition weight bottoms and medium for the tops also. The reason for this is that the leg lengths are much better for me, as I have had problems with other long underwear with too short inseams. The medium talls fit me perfectly. The hood size that some have complained about is just right for me, as I will be wearing a cap or hat underneath. I have a thin neck and so the neck with the small zipper insert cover does not bother me at all, and the orientation of the zipper is fine with me. I haven't washed the jacket, but if it holds up like the other Minus 33 items, it will be my favorite winter hoody ever, and will be fabulous for chilly indoor wear and to layer under my winter parkas, etc . when I have to be outside in the really cold weather. I have gone through many sets of long underwear ( I am 74 ) and the Minus 33s are my favorites so far as they are so soft and comfortable and wash and wear quite well. My oldest ones are 3 years old and they still look quite good, except for fraying around the thumb holes, unfortunately. The thumb holes in this hoody jacket, however, are very nice and because of the way they are reinforced so well and are placed in a knitted material rather than the woolen material of the jacket, they shouldnt fray like the ones in the expedition tops. (I can only wish the tops were made this in this fashion). The only con I can think of is that they all really, really attract pet hair, as others have noted. But that is not a deal breaker for me!.

Warm but hood is cut weird - updated 5 years in
Nice garment. Hood is much too big.Update after 5 years: has held up very well and proven to be a reliable garment for everyday wear, camping, and travel.I've never learned to love to oversized hood, but I think that has more to do with preferring the two-panel hood design over the three panel, on any garment. There is no denying the hood keeps me warm though! After 5 years of regular wear, including frequent camping trips and travel, the jacket looks almost as good as the day I got it. The color has not faded or anything. The cuffs are beginning to fray a bit. I did get one small hole in the lower back, I think from moths, but it was easy to darn and is not visible unless you look for it. This is common for wool garments where I live, unless they are stored in cedar chests or mothballs. I mention it only to point out it's not a fatal flaw, just part of expected maintenance for wool garments for me. Most of my other wool has darning repairs, too. This is a true multi-use garment. I can layer it under a nice coat or denim jacket for cold weather use in the city, or wear it alone. It looks equally at home in the woods or in town. It makes a fine emergency rain coat, and is all you really need anyway if you are only going from the door to the car. Wool provides a wide range of comfort, compared to fleece, though it is heavier. I also like the fire resistance for camping and flying. I'm returning a down jacket because I realized it was only ever one spark away from being wrecked, whereas the wool hoody cares nought about sparks. When camping, I sleep in the hoody and it keeps my head and neck warm. In fact, I kinda never take it off camping, once the Temps get down to the low 60s or less.I have the Medium, and it weighs 1 lb 14oz, which is fairly porky for hiking gear. But, I generally am wearing it, not carrying it, and the weight doesn't matter so much then. The fit is long (I'm 5' 9" tall) and I like that it covers my tail feathers, because I don't like cold tail feathers. The sleeves are almost too short, but long enough, although another inch or 3/4" would not hurt.Honestly, the only reason I even have other jackets is for novelty, because this one jacket really does do it all for me. Sometimes I just need to give it a break and wear fleece or a cotton hood for variety, not because those are better than this jacket. If you like wool garments, I think you will like this one.

3-year review. Holds up except zipper.
Three year review. I've had this zippered hoodie for just over 3 years now and wear it everyday. It's held up really well except that the zipper now separates when trying to zip. I'm considering just sewing it shut and making a pull-over out of it.Really wish they offered one in olive drab for hunting.
