Long range, clear sound, with multiple channels
These work great for what I use them for. I have a large home and a huge piece of land. The girl that helps me run my business is all over the place. I hate yelling for her, so I got these. Now I don't have to yell to get her to do something I need her to do, anymore. They have a range of about 700 feet. Which is all I need.

Charge first.
Works well. I use them in an Amusement Park , to keep tabs where everyone is in the park.

Good for the price!
The antennas on the actual product are probably 5 inches long. The batteries go dead even if they're turned off. But, for the price, they're fantastic. Well worth it.

Good Radios
I bought the 2-pack to use alongside my Baofeng BF-A5 handheld radios and on the exterior they look nearly identical to the BF-A5's. It's easy to load the BF-888S radios with the same code plug as the BF-A5 radios using CHIRP software, and they do communicate with each other, but read the manual as there are some slight functional differences in regard to how they use monitor or scan mode compared to the BF-A5's. These radios also fine for vehicle-to-vehicle communication on a road trip. Build quality is fine considering the price. The antennas that ship with Baofeng radios are always junk so do yourself a favor and spend a few extra dollars for some Nagoya antennas too.

Good so far
These seem to function well even when not in line of sight. Like within a building. Your not gonna get 3 miles range unless it's like pointed directly down a mountain at the other radio with nothing in the way.Odds are youre not going to need that kind of distance anyway. Having only 2 controls keeps things simple, especially for kids. I have another baufeng and it works well so I stayed with the brand. They have already been dropped a few times and held up fine so they seem well made. Happy with my purchase and would reccomend this product.

Decent
They are very small, light, and easy to use.PROS:- They are well built. Don't doubt the quality at this price point.- Programmable with a cable.- Channel knob with voice announcement.- Price! This is always a bonus for Baofeng.- Beatshift, which is a feature to disguise communications, but not truly encryption. More like sound manipulation. Effective against the general public.- USB-C for charging or included docks!- Comes with earbuds/micCONS:- Not CHiRP compatible. You must download and use the Baofeng software for the BF-480.- No included programming cable.- No LED screen, but this might be better for novice users.- No dust covers on USB-C ports. I highly advise you cover them with tape to prevent ruining them.- The mic on the included earbuds is horrible!- Only 16 channels. That is not a lot. It's a limitation caused by having a physical channel knob.

Great radios for the price
Bought 2 sets of these to take on a ski trip with a group of friends. They worked great, had great range and the batteries lasted all day with a lot of use between kids and adults. I ordered a programming cable from another vendor on Amazon that I was planning on using for changing the frequency, but it didn’t work. However it was not a problem because both sets of radios (4 total) were all programmed the same so we were able to use them without reprogramming. They were easy for the kids to use as well, didn’t have to worry about inadvertently changing the chanel because there are not a lot of programming buttons. Big plus was that the radios were relatively inexpensive so if one of the kids lost one it wouldn’t be a big deal. Fortunately we made it through the weekend with all 4 making it back each day.
