Don't take chances with waterproofing!
This item is not cheap but worth the cost. The other brands do not hold up as well, in my opinion, but they are half the cost. If you are using this for shower floors and walls for waterproofing, don't take the chance with the other products out there. My suggestion is to talk with those that do these installments for a living. They will tell you when it comes to water, don't cut any corners. Get the best product with the best reviews. Schluter Kerdi is the best brand without a doubt.

Great purchase. Would buy again. Compared to Big hardware stores, get much more for much less. Same Schluter quantity for value prices!
