Culturelle Abdominal Support & Comfort – 28 Packets

When I ordered this product a few weeks ago I wanted to wait until after I saw my GI dr before posting my review. I was suffering from stomach cramps, persistent stomach pain, constant belching, diarrhea, and fatigue. I ate more antacids over the initial two-week period than in my lifetime. I was feeling desperate and knew I had to wait another 3 weeks to see the gastro so I put myself on the FODMAP diet along with this supplement. Within a week to 10 days, I saw a 90% improvement! My gastro's best guess is that I have PI/IBS but didn't have any advice to give me today b/c when I saw him, I was symptom-free. I have this product on auto-ship and it will be a part of my daily routine for years to come but I also feel strongly that the diet has given my gastro-system time to heal. I encourage you to do your homework but this combination definitely worked for me.BTW: odorless and tasteless - I drink it in water first thing every morning

Digestive issues

I have gut issues and pain. I take this and it help lesson the cramps and have better bowl movements. I like that I can add to any food and drink because it does not change the taste of my foods. Great supplement!

**Update below~Scroll down for the TL:DR~I have severe IBS-C and need to use Miralax daily to have bowel movements. I also suffer from IBS flare ups which involve severe pains and overall abdominal discomfort. I came across this product and decided to give it a go. I will say after about a week of taking it daily in my water, I did notice a difference in overall abdominal discomfort as well as bowel movements, HOWEVER, after I ran out of the packets I noticed my symptoms came back two-fold. I had probably one of the worst IBS flares after maybe 2-3 days of not taking this. I thought maybe it was something I ate and not because I stopped taking this, so naturally, I purchased it again, went through the whole container taking it once a day, then ran out again. And YET AGAIN I had a severe IBS flare, and for DAYS after I was very nauseous and very bloated. I finally feel like I can attribute it to my body reacting to when I stop taking this product, especially because around when I ran out of it, I was eating very clean food that were all devoid of IBS trigger foods. I really wish this worked long term instead of daily, because I did notice a difference in abdominal discomfort and other IBS symptoms, but I just cannot risk feeling awful after I run out and I do not want to be tied to taking this every single day for the rest of my life for relief (especially since there are no long term studies). I appreciate what Culturelle did with the science and purpose of this product, and I'm glad it helps other people including myself; Truthfully, I'm just over it. Time to move onto the next IBS "miracle" supplement.TL:DR - it works, but when you stop taking it, your symptoms come back, sometimes worse than before for a few days till things calm down. I don't want to be tied to taking this for the rest of my life for relief, and I wish it helped long term versus on a daily basis.**UPDATE** - I recently had an appointment with my Gastroenterologist and I brought up this product to her. She said she heard of it and looked into it to see if she would recommend it to her patients, and she concluded it's not the best. She advised it probably has some good short term effects, but long term it could be damaging to your gut microbiome and also could exacerbate IBS Symptoms in the future as your gut microbiome will start to rely on it more and more. She also advised the study conducted on this product was hosted by Culturelle themselves and not a third party, which means the results should be reviewed with caution. Also, the study was only done during a short period of time, and there are no long term studies, that might be because long term it made people feel worse? It's for you to decide, but her opinion coincided with my experience with this product. Short term, it helped. Long term, it made me nauseous and my IBS symptoms seemed to get worse if I forgot to take it once or twice. There are other solutions to healing your gut and relieving IBS symptoms, but this just is not it.
