Q: How bright is this? How much area uner the ice will it illuminate? Id like to try this ice fishing in aprox 10-30 ft.

it's very bright in the night. 30 ft may be too shallow, I usually send this down to 500 ft

the green does not blink. only the disco blinks.

Q: Hows the battery life? 2 AA bats burn up fast or do they last a bit?

I have mine running right now on 2 rechargeable duracell, started it on nov 23rd, today is dec 6th, did not take it off and its still lighting

The light are about the size of an egg. They are better suited for deep sea fishing where bigger line is used. The long line clip is designed to attach to 300lb line or bigger. The clip can be removed. Without the clip the light will be slightly buoyant.
