Fix the handle first
Reviews stated several broken handles so headed to home depot and vote some fiber fix tape took the paracord off and wrapped the entire handle especially the top two thirds. Took it out, swung two handed as hard as I could cutting 3 inch locus log, it performed as well as my crkt chogan and freyr, also a cold steel axe. It took a beating and performed and cut well, impressed, I like, thinner blade made it lighter and easier to use, the blade (I sharpened it before use) had no dings, chips or rolled edges, still pretty. Again fix the handle with the fiber fix tape before use and you will have a super small axe, mine performed as well as all the others, all took a two hand beating on locus, loved all of them, especially this one because it's the coolest one, love that blade design.

Great buy. Loaded with many tool uses. My favorite the hammer.
Great balance in hand. Holds a sharp edge. 5 Stars for the Hammer.

Weak Axe, non functional
This is not a functional axe it’s a wall hanger the hammer on the back is sodderd on. The steel is tooo weak to properly chop and it’s thin like a knife, the handle is cheap plastic a downgrade from another mtech axe I own, the knife I own is thicker than this axe, and it’s flimsy when it gets stuck the whole construction flexes and creaks. It’s unsafe to use for actual camping or survival not worth the price tag for this quality 20$ is already too much

Great hatchet/axe for emergencies.
The handle is well wrapped with material that won't allow it to easily slide from your hand. The loop is an added security. The hammer end is good for knocking things. It came in a nicely packaged, easy to remove, no bubble wrap. The edge is sharp. It will definitely work for what I purchased it for... or at least, I anticipate it will work fine.I would purchase again.

How to Strengthen M Tech Handle for Cheap!
So, like most folks out there I bought this particular axe because of the GREAT LOOKING head design. Just buy some Fiber Fix Tape, get some heavy gauge shrink tubing, ....much better!👍

Good for the quick and dirty, not the long haul though.
The blade is pretty sharp and hard. (Yes I tested it's hardness) but the tang only goes 3-4 inches down into the handle and the plastic there seems pretty flimsy and brittle. I doubt it would handle much abuse before breaking. Plus side is making your own wooden handle is easy.
